Constant issues with a new p1s

i got this new p1s upgraded from an ender 3.

The first time I printed anything I did a benchy to make sure it was working good. printed nice. Filament was wet. Added the sunlu dryer, printed the top glass riser. Printed a few more things. All gorgeous.

Then I had an issue with a nozzle globbing and prints failing only a few days in.

swapped the nozzle and washed the bed with soap and water, printed great until last night when it started failing again.

Wouldn’t lay a nice first layer. Had some big bumps with strings . Nothing would stick. Took the bed back off washed it aa sec on time with a sponge daddy scour side using Ajax and hot water.

Still didn’t want to print right.

Finally swapped the nozzle back to the old one that I cleaned out /heated with a. Torch to clean the inside:

Did the same to this one to hopefully use it as a spare.

Printed a bed adhesion test. Came out prettt much perfect. Some very minor artifacts but nothing out of the ordinary.

Then printed a can opener. Printed okay. Too fast for some of the parts. Nothing concerning.

Next print was a storage bin. A tall square bin. Large contact area.

Failed , caused the blob of death and now I’m out $35 for a new hotend.

What’s the cause of this? This things causing me the same issue in less than two weeks even my ender 3 didn’t have this many issues so soon.

Any help is greatly needed and appreciated. I hate that I bought this expensive printer for it to fail so miserabley so much so soon.

As you can see this trash bag dispenser I designed and printed came out perfectly.

the one that failed.

this was the can opener

This is the can opener . Printed okay enough

This is the glob that ruined the hotend for good

Did you have the silicone sock on the hotend?

Yes. Everything was the way it was supposed to be. The second time( this time) it got all filled up.

I assume you are printing with PLA or PETG. This is an enclosed printer as opposed to you previous printer. It is recommended to print PLA, TPU, PETG with the top glass removed or propped open, and/or the front door open to prevent heat creep.

Make sure all of your fans are working and your print settings call for them.

I think I got a bad plate to be honest. After attempting to clean it 30 million times I scuffed the piss out of it with a scrap print support interface ( grid texture) and then scrubbed it with a bunch of ipa( after I had washed with a degreaser and then dawn/hot water and scrubbed + dried. And it didn’t stick.

I then raised first layer to 70c. Dropped speed down . ( was only printing half decent at silent mode for the first layer) Whereas before it was fine at full speed.

And then dropped temp down to 65 for rest of print.

Then it was working I did a few prints that worked fine after all that.

I think the plate is just not good. Perhaps bad batch. whatever the standard gold/bronze color plate that came with it.

I’m going to order new plates to try. I got the messed up nozzle to clean up and swapped it back to the old one.

But yes. I print door open and with a riser on the top.
