Constant zAxis Homing failure after swapping nozzle

Hi,

I changed the nozzle of my P1S and after that I am having trouble to start a print. Printing startup fails, error message is “Homing of z Axis failed”. From what I see is that after the purge and brushing of the filament it seems that there floats some more filament out of the nozzle, which then is preventing the bed from touching correctly.

My assumption is, that the brand new nozzle simply has more throughput than the old one, which was pretty worn. But how can I prevent that sipping from filament after the nozzle has purged?

TIA

Det

Uncontrolled oozing out of a hotend is often an indicator of wet filament - the moisture expands in the hot zone and pushes filament below it out of the nozzke, even when the extruder isn’t extruding.

Brand new filament is not immune - plastic bags do not prevent moisture getting to the filament.

Check the nozzle mounting screws to be sure they are properly snug.

They are, I reassembled the whole thing. Not getting better, still oozing out some 2cm (an inch or so) of filament. I think, this is why the initial homing of z-Axis fails (annyoingly without any feedback on the desktop, but silently aborting).

Right after I installed the hotend I was able to do 2 prints without any problem, it is just one day later that I cannot print any more.

do not think so, never had an issue before I switched the nozzle

This is approx 2/3 of the amount that is oozing out
