Contest clarification: Board Game Tokens/Accessories

They still haven’t bothered to provide any clarity.

@MakerWorld can we finally get an answer to the original question?

I wish the timing were different, I’m up to my disembodied eyeballs in Halloween, but there are some board game tokens I’ve been meaning to finish!! Guess I’ll just have to boost all of you guys instead

Same here. I got the idea from Maker’s Supply hardware that I came across one day. It was originally to be a Police Quarrels board game but has since evolved into something else.

EDIT: Are you Chicken or are you chicken?

Their clarification will be great but strictly going off the title “Board Game Tokens/Accessories”

That would mean Board Game Tokens / Board Game Accessories

I believe if it said Board Games/Tokens/Accessories or Board Games, Tokens, and Accessories it might mean all three things, rather than the last two

This is all semantics though and a clarification would be great, though we will get one when it’s released on the 25th

I imagine people will find a way to spin every adjacent thing they can find into something that fits

I imagine there are a bunch of people privating their old models in preparation for a re-upload, this happens with every contest

Hi guys, we are delighted to see the continued interest for our contests!
When we were setting up this contest, the following entry ideas came to mind:

  • Either you’ve lost specific tokens for a board game and want replacements, or you’d like to create your own versions and remixes of the tokens.
  • The original box for a board game is lost or damaged, and you’d like to design a new one. Even better, design a container that makes it easier to take the game on trips.
  • Many board games are in 2D. Try using your ideas and creations to bring them into the 3D dimension.
  • Last but not least, if you want to build and create a brand new board game from scratch, we wholeheartedly welcome your marvelous designs. Just make sure to keep the rules simple and straightforward, as the most popular board games usually have extremely easy and simple setups.

Hope this answers all of your questions!
Let us know if you have any further confusions and we will try our best to make it as clear as possible.

lol, thanks! There are some really good designs coming in. Can’t wait to see all of the fun and creative designs over the course of the contest!

Hello there, I believe that a board game is an example that is used. Obviously then, provided that the board games contained almost entirely 3D printed content, it would be fine to upload one into a contest.

I see the admins already responded… carry on guv’na.

I’ve been slacking a bit on my game but it’s 99% complete. I just have to print a die for it. I call it “Are you Chicken?” and players race to be the first chicken to cross the busy four lane hiway without dying. Your health meter is represented by a Single LED Magnetic Control Switch Light. The cars whip by so fast that you won’t see them but you’ll sure feel it. Removable panels underneath the board house the magnets (cars) and can be switched around after every game, making no two games the same. Here’s a sneak peek.

EDIT: You “die” if your light goes out completely, and you will have to respawn at the start line.

I have launched one of my entries into the Board games contest.

HexaGone is a two-player game where you match tiles and remove them. The player with the most tiles at the end wins.

My friend’s kids (teenagers) helped me define the rules and they love playing it.
