I feel like I’m in the twilight zone. My prints peel off the CPST like peeling a sticker off its non-stick backing. Like no stick at all. The plate is brand new and carefully cleaned.
I’ve tried several filaments including Bambu PLA Basic.
I disabled Build Plate Detection. That did nothing.
I did a 1st layer test with a .2mm sheet that filled the whole build plate. It printed okay, but peeled off with no resistance, while still hot.
I increased the build plate temp to 50. No difference whatsoever.
Large prints start lifting after just a few layers. Small ones simply fall over. What gives? Please someone help!
I had the same at the very beginning, I even put an engineering plate sticker code on it so that it performs at same temperature as engineering or textured PEI plates but after some prints, adhesion really improved, I’m down from 55 to 50C now and I should test it at recommended 45 to see if it sticks.
I still have to clean it though, it went from packaging to printer… That’s the Super Tack Pro btw but I think that’s the only one available on H2C.
Are you sure your soap does not contain any additives that would work against it.
I cleaned it twice, once with generic dish soap and once with Dr Bronners soap and hot water. I like Dr. Bronners because it leaves eye glasses extremely clean. Happy to try something else though.
That soap probably isn’t a great choice. They seem to be a “wellness” type product, a lot of them have additional moisturizers and oils. Hand soaps in general aren’t right for the job. Use Dawn dish soap, a plastic bristle brush and hot water.
I didn’t clean mine at all, still haven’t after many hours. I give it a light wipe with a microfiber cloth, that’s about it. I try not to touch the surface with bare hands (oil), but if I do a simple wipe seems effective. PLA/PETG stick like glue, though I found the recommended temperatures too low (interesting that it may improve… have to try again with lower temps).
And yes, Dr. B’s has oils and fragrances added, except their baby soap (IIRC). Leaves a surprising amount of buildup actually… clean glasses notwithstanding. Great for other uses though, like on humans.
One thing I noticed, at lest with PETG, is that it tends to get harder to remove the prints once the plate cools. I even use a “trick” with the first layer being hotter, then let it cool 5-10 degrees for the rest, which seems to grip the part better if anything (and yet easier to remove after). Seems contradictory, I know.
I had similar issues with my plate for the P1S, it was a cooling issue, I disabled the aux fan and all my prints was almost sticking too good, so much that small flat objects are very difficult to get of the plate
