I have a X1C with .4 nozzle using Bambu PLA filament. Textured plate. Plate cleaned with Dawn before print. Filament was dried beforehand. Avoid Cross Wall on to minimize travel moves.
When I print models with a corner or curve in them or small holes, the corners are very rough (see picture) and the holes are mostly closed. Other models with same filament print fine. Here is what I have tried so far, with no luck.
different color filaments
variable layer height
silent mode to slow down printer
moved model to different place on bed
changed process to high quality, 0.08
Before I start fiddling with nozzle and bed temps I thought I’d see if anyone had any ideas of how to fix this.
What are the odds that you’re using Bambu Studio and you’re relying on factory or X1 automatic setting? I’ll bet pretty high.
Also, it’s hard to visually what else you may be going wrong without a screengrab of the sliced model as it sits on the build plate. A photo is good but it’s only a snapshot of the scene of the crime after the perp has left. By seeing the model as it sits on the build plate after slicing we can better see what the intent was before it was sent to the printer.
However, based on the photographic evidence, I’m guessing you’re not using supports or you have improperly tuned supports.
You are correct @Olias! I normally do not have any issues with the Bambu PLA filament set up. I wanted to get other ideas before I go down the road of making too many changes.
Attached is a picture after the model is sliced.
@hotellonely, I am using the textured plate; I was under the impression that I should not use glue when using that plate (?)
I forgot to mention I also tested with the filament profile from 3d Filament. The 2nd picture shows that set up.
Also, a layer cut at the offending layer will also allow us to peak inside the construction of the model and get some insights into what the internal structure looks like.
