Cost Override for Official Bambu Filament Profiles

Right now in Bambu Studio, if I want to change the cost of a Bambu filament (to match my own pricing sheet for prints), I have to edit the system filament profile. But since the system profiles are locked, Studio forces me to create a new custom profile.

That breaks the link to AMS auto-recognition. So I’m stuck with a choice:

  • Keep AMS sync but have inaccurate costs, or
  • Get accurate costs but lose AMS sync.

What would solve this is a simple “Cost Override” field for official Bambu profiles:

  • The override would apply only to cost calculation, not to the profile itself.
  • AMS would still recognize spools and load the right material.
  • Users could enter their own price-per-kg (or even per-roll) without fragmenting profiles.

This would be especially useful for anyone running a pricing sheet or print service, since filament costs fluctuate and aren’t always the same as Bambu’s defaults.

Nice-to-have options:

  • Global cost multiplier (e.g. apply +15% across all system filaments).
  • Per-roll override (in case you buy a spool at a discount or higher cost).

This feels like a small change with a big usability payoff. It would let us keep the streamlined AMS workflow and track real costs for quoting prints.
