Crazy idea: vibration dampening coaster

So, I am a tea drinker but I often spill it when the cup is quite full and I use my eraser on my desk.

I had the idea of making a vibration isolating coaster.

Open to ideas, could be elastic perched, isolation foots.

I am thinking with portals here

The simplest approach is usually the best thing: print a lid for your mug and your problem is solved. Make it from ABS to hold it longer … Enjoy the tea.

Boo, boring :joy:

And I can’t print abs on my A1 currently, too much warping.

Have a look on MakerWorld at how the HULA works.

But keep in mind that vibration isolators keep vibrational energy on the side of the exitation => It"ll be helpful for a desk bump but you’ll need to be more careful when putting down a full cup.

or just give up the tea. it’s good for your health not to drink to much colored water… as it could corode your stomach… use burbon instead.

I suggest you print my Dyson drinks holder and keep your drink upright whilst doing a household chore.

It uses the mystical art of gyroscopic rings to keep the drink safe at most angles, even whilse hiding the evidence you walked in mud rather than taking your shoes off at the door as your wife keeps telling you to do.
