I created a new design to add a function i needed.
The Original stepfile is from the factory. (it is allowed to modify/change it)
Now i want to share it on makerworld.
But it is partially my own design. and partially factory design.
The factory does not say anything about this.
Am i allowed to say on makerworld that it is my own design or not in this case?
Firstly, you say “the factory”, which site/service?
The general rule is, if they don’t say, you can’t.
A right has to be bestowed upon others for it to be used.
Chances are it does say, yet you didn’t look thoroughly or understood the words they used.
Share the link and we can help you determine.
If they do explicitly provide this right, it would be a remix as you used their work to add your own.
It obviously isn’t your work as it is a combination of their greater effort (they came up with the source model) with yours added. It is likely the addition you made will serve you, but not be shareable with the wider community.
i am specificly asking about the makerworld rules on this.
I want some clarification on those rules and my design if it fits in it.
It is for a intel nuc.

within the zip files there is only step file.
No other files what so ever.

That depends on the license the source models was released under, it has nothing to do with MakerWorld.

Those all imply an opportunity, not seeing them implies the opposite. Rights are bestowed, not assumed.
You originally said the model you based yours on was from the factory, what happened to that link?
I own a NUC, I am aware you can modify these for your own needs.

That says nothing about sharing them for free or for profit. It also doesn’t say how you would attribute them if they allowed it. The 3D world is all about licensing and license types. Unless it is expressly stated, the rule is you can’t.

Although i see a lot of differnt versions created by others.
I do have a call with some one from intel soon.
might ask him for some details about this.
Ask them to publish their rules and licence information to make it clear to the community.
If they truly wish these to be shared and foster a community of them, they MUST state that, it is on them to be clear.

I think he might be able to clearify it for us. Or contact the right person for it.
(to see if i can get a answer sooner i asked intel on X about it. who knows what is quicker :D)

I just had a chat with a support agant.
De nuc part of intel has gone over to Asus they dont have any more information on the support team on this part.
So they can not really answer the question any more.
And the agent said just share it.
Just report that you used the base design from intel.com (with the URL)
Is it legal to share? We dont know basicly.
If it is not then it is tolerated.

Oh and so they will not update the page

I do not often say this, but in the circumstances, I would release whatever you create.
I quick search found so many on Yetti, it is clearly something others are sharing.
That is why i assumed it was not an issue with intel.
Still need to print it in PETG to verify my design.
