I got a Smooth PEI plate when I got my 2nd batch H2D, and like many others, my plate has bad adhesion, my gold PEI is fine. Now I could do a ticket, but to be honest, I can’t be bothered, I really don’t care about the cost. If I was to now buy a new one here in Australia, I’m I most likely going to get a plate that sticks at this point in time?
Cheers.
What materials are you printing? There are a few aftermarket options with great adhesion for every filament. They work much better than OEM plates without adhesive.
Really, haven’t seen aftermarket smooth pei yet
Possibly a g10 plate

The aftermarket smooth PEI are out there but I meant more Frostbite or Glacier.
Here is the smooth PEI: https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPXXV75
I’d prefer the original tbh.
The Polyura plates (Frosbite or Kdavi for PLA, PETG, ABS, ASA, PC) and Glacier (for PA, PPA, PPS) have way better grip. Once you try one you wont go back to PEI for anything besides textured for TPU, they are that good.
Ok, I’ll look into it, cheers.
Likewise. I see all the threads on extra build plates and an like: why?! But then I say to myself “different strokes for different folks”…
My PEI’s(stock) work great! I haven’t had one failure on either of my H units yet… But then, I’ve pretty much gotten to the point that I was having no fault on the P units also! All using ABS as the daily driver.
Mnn… Well, to each their own…
Grip on a totally different level. I never use brims and in 9000 hours of printing on bambu never once had a failed first layer after switching to the polyura plates. They allow you to print things that would be impossible on the PEI, tiny contact patches. They prevent warping as the grips is so good. Also the adhesion does not deteriorate with time like PEI, no washing needed. Until you try a Frostbite/Kdavi polyura plate you wont understand if you dont now, night and day difference, even compared to the new improved textured PEI with the coating.
Do you have a link to that one, by chance?
Frostbite is the one you want for PLA/PETG/ABS/ASA for Nylon you want the Glacier. Its on sale so a good time to buy.
Australian Amazon doesn’t have the H2D frostbite.
Its available on aliexpress direct from china. If that link does not work just search for a seller that ships to down under.
Cheers mate. 252525252525
Excellent. Thank you! I appreciate it.
I have the Fysetc, is that one comparable to the Glacier or not really?
They have a combo pack(both for 5% off big whoop). I print abs, ABS-GF, Nylon and CF-Nylon exclusively. Is there a guide on how to use these build plates properly? To my understanding there is less bed temp and what not needed for them?
[Edit]: I’m an idiot sandwich. There is literally temp/adhesion guides if I would have just scrolled down ![]()

[Edit x2]: The instructions say the frostbite is not compatible with ABS, and to use the glacier. You say use the frostbite with ABS. now I’m confused.
ABS works with Frostbite much better than Glacier. Glacier is pretty much exclusive to Nylon.
Ah ok thanks! I bought both of them, because I print quite a bit of plain Nylon/CF-Nylon.
Do you recommend glue? Or it’s good to just print as is?
