Extremely disappointed with Bambu Lab customer support – faulty printer and unresolved replacement

I’m posting this because I’m extremely disappointed with the way my faulty Bambu Lab printer has been handled.

I purchased my printer in June and unfortunately it has experienced a number of faults. I have contacted Bambu Lab support repeatedly and have had to keep chasing them because tickets have not been raised properly and I have often been left without updates.

Bambu Lab sent me a replacement part. Some of the issues were resolved, but other functions were still not working correctly. I was then told another part would be sent, but after explaining that another function had also stopped working, I was told that the printer would instead be replaced and that I would need to return my faulty machine.

This is where the situation has become extremely frustrating.

I was told a box would be sent to me so I could safely package and return the printer. I was specifically told it would be sent ASAP. Days later, I was still waiting.

When I contacted support again, I was told that the person responsible for raising the ticket was on annual leave and that I would have to wait for them to return.

I find this very difficult to understand. Surely there should be cover in place when a member of the customer service team is on annual leave so that customers’ cases don’t simply stop?

I have repeatedly had to contact Bambu Lab just to find out what is happening. I shouldn’t have to keep chasing a company after being told that something is being arranged.

I was also told to “be patient.”

I completely understand that replacements and returns can take time, but being repeatedly left without information and then being told to be patient is not what I would consider good customer service.

I eventually made a formal complaint. The response I received apologised for my experience and said my ticket had been returned to the original specialist because they were familiar with my case.

However, this still hasn’t actually resolved the problem.

I still have a faulty printer.
I still don’t have the return box.
The collection has not been arranged.
I don’t have my replacement printer.
And I have not received any compensation or goodwill gesture for the inconvenience and time I have spent dealing with this.

At this point I don’t simply want another apology. I want the matter properly escalated and resolved.

I have purchased a Bambu Lab printer because I expected a good-quality product and good after-sales support. Unfortunately, my experience so far has been very different.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with replacement machines or support tickets? If so, how was your situation eventually resolved?

I would really appreciate some advice.

They do not move quick. It will take time.

This is one of the reasons you are supposed to keep the box for a certain amount of time.

If you are looking for advice, share the issues. If you are just looking to vent, thats fine too.

You can send @SupportAssistant your ticket number.

Side note: Dont open multiple tickets for the same issue. It just confuses support.

This probably presented the support team with more challenges than they expected. What sounds simple is actually a highly complex process. It’s not as simple as just sending a cardboard box - it has to contain the correct packing material. Warehouses rarely have that kind of material on hand, let alone the exact right kind, as leftover.

Most customers keep the box specifically for situations like this. Shipping is just as expensive for Bambu, because of the package size, whether it’s filled or not.

Don’t get me wrong, I totally understand your frustration, but I can also just imagine the support team breaking out in a sweat right now. I always recommend keeping the packaging, regardless of Bambu, especially since you mentioned that the device has had problems from the outset.

If a dispute arises, whether via PayPal or your credit card, you may have to arrange shipping yourself. I’m speaking in general terms here, not specifically about Bambu. Then you’ll need to pay for shipping and provide PayPal with proof of shipment. You’ll then be retroactively refunded the shipping costs.

Just a general piece of advice for next time. Also, if you ever want to resell the printer, having the original box will increase its resale value. :+1:

Thanks for posting this. I have also had negative customer service experience with Bambu Lab. The quality of customer service is far below most other companies. I was actually trying to spend more money with them and they made it so difficult that I decided I will only be buying 3rd party in the future.

If the box arrived in good condition I would of kept it!

So, did the printer - or rather, the box - arrive at your place already damaged? Well, with hindsight, you’re always wiser, but I would have sent it right back or not accepted it in the first place - but it’s too late for that now anyway.

It probably would have been an insurance claim handled through the package delivery service and Bambu, which would have saved you a lot of trouble.

You’ve really had a string of unfortunate coincidences…
