Yep, “anyone who has FreeCAD”… but I’m thinking of people like my dad of 75, who likes finding fun and useful stuff on MakerWorld and print on his P1S. I do not see him downloading FreeCAD and learning how to re-dimension and export… however, changing some dimensions in an HTML page - THAT I can see my dad doing.
It’s a matter of exposing it to the masses. Just think of all the users on here downloading dragons and fidget toys!
Just imagine how this will open up possibilities, and the business case for Bambu is strong. More functional prints to download = more customers!
Also, the learning curve of FreeCAD has been drastically reduced just during the last few months. I tried it in April when I bought my first printer, but it was hopeless and NO help from AI, so I went with Fusion. I tried it again and did the switch from Fusion to FreeCAD a couple of weeks ago, and AI has now cought up. It’s a breeze if you set your mind to it. Hopefully the user base will increase if we spread this word around.
