Hi,
It is not possible to print reduction gear or wheels (w/ TPU) ?
I’m surprise those are part of cyberbrick’s sell kit.
Some gears are available for print, but motor reduction gear are sell.
It’s lack of precision issue? Or strenght?
Regards

I wouldn’t want to print the gears. I’d say they’re too small and fiddly. Maybe you could do something with a .2mm nozzle, but otherwise I think you’d need a resin printer or something. I think otherwise, if you wanted them to be easily printable, they’d have to be a bit bigger.
I’d have concerns with strength too for a couple of the gears in particular, but beyond that for something as important, I wouldn’t want to leave it to the end user to use something like silk pla, then yell at me when it doesn’t last. Then you also have to worry about things like extrusion inconsistencies that can cause some users to have tighter fitting parts than others.
These types of issues are all issues I’ve ran into with end users and the projects I’ve designed.
From my perspective, the addition of purpose built hardware does a lot to enhance a given model’s longevity, functionality, strength, and ease of assembly.
This is just my opinion though. ![]()

100% agree!!
I’ve been trying print suitable gears to mesh with the tiny gear parts from the Maker’s Beginner’s Kit, and it’s impossible with the 0.4 nozzle!
*Yes, I know those tiny gears were meant for a printable TT motor housing, but I was looking for alternative uses.
Ok, many thanks!
And for wheels, I see some Cyberbrick models with custom wheel in TPU.
Regards!
