i have downloaded the build a droid r2d2, i have also ordered the beginners hardware kit. Do i need to i need rc equipment as well, if so what would you recommend, assistance appreciated
He listed a few other small items you’ll need but not really RC equipment.

It is always worth scrolling down the description content to the Bill of Materials, this is the list the model designer provides to show what is required.
The CyberBrick kits are good, but, sometimes more parts are required.
This can be due to needing more of something already supplied, like screws, motors, servos, or things not provided, like bearings.
I have designed three CyberBrick models, none yet released (testing etc).
Oe requires a few more parts, the other two I am trying to keep them within the original pack requirements.
Something else important to note. The CyberBrick Ultimate kit does NOT contain two of everything in the Starter kit.
LEDs, screws and many more items do not have two sets of everything.
This can make it hard to build two models with remotes as advertised.
Knew I should have consulted with you before I ordered.
That oracle thing isn’t a fluke.
sorry should have made it more clear. i downloaded the model and all the parts in the parts list, do i need anything else to make it move as in the demo video, thank you.
Assuming you have printed all the parts, assembled the model using those parts and CyberBrick electronics, printed a remote and assembled the remote using the those parts and CyberBricks electronics, then I think you are asking how you get the remote to control the vehicle.
You need to use the CyberBrick app, which you can download from the iOS or Android app store onto your mobile device.
You then go to the model page using your mobile device and use the Config file link, this should launch the CyberBrick app. You could search for the model using the CyberBrick app and the option is right there.
Think of a CyberBrick model as three things:
- Printed Parts
- CyberBrick electronics
- Config file
The config file tells the remote and the vehicle (model) what to do, it is the metaphoric glue.
so do i need to print the remote and get the extra parts listed.
Yes.
This is the standard remote produced by Bambu Lab for CyberBrick. You can choose others, just make sure that ones has the correct controls for the chosen model.
You CyberBrick kit already has the electronics for the remote.
Assuming the model you are talking about is this one:
You need the following extra parts.
- SH1.0 to SH1.0 Connector Adapter Board | Bambu Lab US Store
- Wire Pair with SH1.0 | Bambu Lab US Store
- Plastic Deep Groove Ball Bearings | Bambu Lab US Store
- Stainless Steel Balls (10PCS) | Bambu Lab US Store
As you can see from the Bill of Materials (BoM), you have one part (highlighted in purple); the others listed above are taken directly from the BoM.
Finally, there are two items listed that are not available from Bambu Lab.
List other parts
- Super Glue (CA) x 1
- Electrical Tape x 1
