Maybe I’m crazy, but my P2S had a plastic protective film on the screen when I unboxed it.
My X2D didn’t. And there were a few marks that made me question whether it was a new machine, or a test unit, or used in some way and refurbished. Anyway it has suffered an MC board failure….so I’m awaiting help from BBL. Overall the X2D has not been as smooth an experience, as say the P2S…
Just unpa ked my X2D yesterday, my screen came in a small plastic sealed baggy, no screen protector.
Mine came with a screen protector. It’s almost invisibly applied though.
There is a film there, I had to try hard to tear it off, it took me about five minutes.
I’ll look harder. I have destroyed a screen on a different device, in the past…Thinking what i was pulling off was a screen protector…lol.
Use a plastic scraper or a guitar pick to pick at the sides. Yeah I got a scare with the p2s last time too as it scratched really easily. Then someone said there’s a screen protector and voila.
And so yesterday I tried on my x2d and yes there’s a film applied too.
Yes mine did. I used a sharp knife to pick it off. The screen looks clearer without the film.
Yep. I did find this. It was very subtle. I was apprehensive to do it because I’ve trashed an lcd screen before, removing what I thought was tearvoff film.
Wow, I did not think it had one applied since there was no pull tab like the P1S. Thanks for the tip to get a clearer display! I will be removing it asap.
I did notice the fingerprint cleanability seemed awful… doh!
I’ll just add this in case someone doesn’t have a protector on theirs for some reason and still try to peel one off.
the edge of the protector should be visible as it is slightly smaller than the screen. If you don’t see it, don’t try!!!
Do you guys take pictures of your screen ?
Mine was not at all smaller than the screen. Not even 0.2mm. And I had to lift it with a blade.
Unless they have wrinkles, bubbles, or interfere with operation of a device, I usually leave screen protectors in place. Screens probably need protection in use more than they do in shipping.
I used a plastic pry pick to get at it. Mine was the exact same size as the screen
