Hey everyone, it’s the librarian again! So new question on filament brands
After the incident that caused our H2D to be blocked (using ABS and not having properly setting it back to PLA specs), we made it a policy that we would only use the Bambu brand filament and only PLA so we wouldn’t have another blockage issue. HOWEVER, we are now left with tons of PLA from Hatchbox. Before we make this policy permanent, I wanted to make sure that Hatchbox spools and filament are H2D compatible so we can go through these first and not have to toss hundreds of dollars of filament and THEN we become part of the Bambu family.

Edit: quick follow up. Are the Hatchbox spools compatible with the H2D’s AMS 2 Pro?
Hatch Box is a good brand of filament. It was all I used on my CR10, lately the prices for it has been too rich for me so I’ve been using Bambu, Elegoo, and Sunlu brands.
For what it’s worth, Bambu filament isn’t immune to clogging. I’ve had it happen a couple of times. It’s part of 3D printing, you will get clogs occasionally. With that said, I would use up the Hatch Box before tossing it…
Hatchbox was fine for me. Very nice deep purple PLA.
Material changes between high temps and low temps are ripe for clogs, so this is gonna be more of a process change for you vs a vendor change, IMO.
Edit: If you’re in control of the slicer (and the start gcode) you can do some things to add some resiliency, like change the max suggested temps of your PLA to be a temp that melts ABS too (this value is used during AMS based material changes)
If the issue is just wanting to use the correct settings, I’ve found Hatchbox PLA prints fine on my X1C using Bambu settings. As you use up Bambu spools you can just tape the Bambu RFID tags onto the Hatchbox spools. Extra nice - get the colors right and it’s just like they were Bambu spools to first approximation.
There are also printable holders on MW if you want to re-use tags more easily.
