Disappointing

Ok so I’ve been making lots of multicolor prints lately. There’s was a huge issue with nozzle drooling couple months ago , and Bambu provided some kind of solution with custom gcode and couple settings.
Well. As of the last days it doesn’t work either. Prime tower again is f***ed up, I lost already two prints because the tower got grabbed due to excess material stringed on it making it bulge, and both during nozzle change and print finish sequence the nozzles happily drool again.
Is this gonna be fixed or is it time to sell this thing away and be done with it?
Has anyone tried the new update? They even stopped announcing updates and fixes in forums… what a joke… “oh no we won’t forget h2D because of h2c! Be sure” sure my… they totally abandoned h2D…


Thats exactly what im experiencing too. Im now updating to latest fw to see if by some miracle they decided to work on this thing… i dont have much hopes to be honest tho
Just to make sure and spare you the headache of someone comes accusing “WET FILAMENT” as they always do, i assume your filament is dry ?

post first two tabs of your filament settings pls… device worked good before and after the last patch

Factory bambu petg settings with bambu petg filament in use. Nothing changed there. Only the gcode proposed by bambu that was supposed to solve this and the “skip points” in prime tier turned off

And yes of course I’ve tried with different filaments. Actually including abs absgf asacf petg pla and wood pla, in total over 50 different spools , this occurs. I have swapped nozzles too, considered maybe they have gapped after all those hours of prints, nope same thing. Recalibrated , again same thing.

In my case it doesnt even stay stuck at prime tower. Now i have pieces of these garbage sticking on my models too as if im not using a tower

I see missing options “dont slow down outer wall” then the printing temperature is +10/+5 while having a slower vspeed by 4mm3s so you profile is hotter and slower than what is my actual bb stock profile.
at 14 mm3s I print petg hf with a flow of 0.93 and temp 220/230

And why is Bambu then recommending that? Is this supposed to be “use our spools for perfect settings ?”
I get finetuning for best results, but using the recommended settings+material from Bambu and having this poor results? Disappointing indeed.
BTW in my case I have also lowered temps, from 235 to 250, made no difference.

@Donoval regarding the photo of the red part you showed, those look like part of Random Z-seam. Regarding the rest of it, it seems to be pretty well known that Bambu Basic PETG is pretty bad which is why they replaced it with PETG HF. You can read more here and maybe you will have luck with Generic PETG settings as did the others here: Bambu Lab PETG Basic - #11 by Malte

I I don’t understand , often I change a thing here and there but you are suggesting that the basis of the preset is wrong. What is Bambu doing if they suggest wrong things. Doesn’t really add up

Random z seem with different colour? That’s a first. Also no seams there

Also I never had issues in over 50 spools of petg basic, not to mention that I get the same with other types of filaments too, petg hf included

yeah there is something happening lately, I mostly print PLA and from time to time I have to remove these too

Out of curiousity, anyone else had their prime towers auto switched to traditional ones? meaning the old style with sharp corners.

I don’t trust presets by default and it is impossible to have a single filament profile for all, every geometry has its own special needs.

That profile is probably functional for a continuous print but you see what happens when the printhead stops to do its changes. because yes gravity exist…

i would use 250 temp for a 0.6 nozzle probably but I am not really sure about this.

yeah would be correct assumption, but truth is, i had this happen even with a simple 30 minutes pure cylindrical print… Geometry and preset play no role here. Its in the firmware 99.9%

Yes, I had that. I had to manually switch back to new tower , even in saved projects and without updating something :thinking:

Happened on a coin like print too, with only ten layers height and 2 or 3 changes.

A 30 min cylinder or a cart coin are small geometries, printing at 250 with a min 12 sec layer time is just forcing the printer to slow down the speed to match the layer time, i bet it oozes…
