Can we have the display come ON on important events (At least on the X1E). Twice now I made the mistake (Yes I made the mistake) of taking a print off the plate while it was warming up the filament for the last 4 layers. I assumed it was finished. A user mistake that easily can be prevented by the display coming on. Important events are Errors, Filament changes, etc.
You do know that you can at all times monitor the status of your printer and the status of your print through the Bambu app, on your phone, don’t you?
Yes… Great that’s possible. But… I’m running X1E’s (not X1C) and in my situation it’s better for the display to come on on exception/error or status changes. In fact, that should be logical. If I had it my way I would have the internal lights flash too on an error so I can glance at a farm rack and see what printer needs help.
You could implement specific g-code that would trigger a visual notification on your printer screen. Don’t know about the internal BL stock light, but there are users who have added LED light strips activated via a DIY module (can also be ordered directly from its maker) that does exactly that: illuminates, flashes and switches colors when there are errors, turns red when there the print didn’t finish or stopped mid-print, and turns green when the print was successfully concluded. I don’t recall exactly if it’s only on the Printables or also on Makerworld… but i do recall that at the time i was considering acquiring the module and the LED strip, printing the rest on PETG or ABS, and install it on my machine…
The ability to add sounds/music to the the end of the print is coming to the X series so this might be another option to signal when a print is complete.
