Hi all new to the group and 3d Printing, one of my first little projects is to print some feed for my sideboard so I cqn fit the printer and AMS under it but had some issues on the first part of my final version print.
Ive done a couple testers and they all came out great but the final version towards the top the print went a bit wonky and rough , any thoughts as to why.
My printer is a P1S and im sticking with bambu pla for now as it just works straight out the box.
It’s a bit hard to see from the photos, but it seems like your missing support for the top overhangs. I’m not familiar with P1S, but I’d guess overhangs slanting out more than 50-60 degrees from the vertical will need some kind of support.
Have you tried enabling support when slicing your model?
Good pictures. I see it now.
It looks like under extrusion for a section of the layers, then it is ok again for the final layers.
does it happen regularly, or just this print?
If it is just this one it could be something tugging on the filament - to much drag so the extruder slips and under extrudes.
Tangled filament? High friction on the spool holder?
Or could it be low temperature for a period? Open door or window causing draft during that part of the print?
First print its done it on , shouldnt be any temp changes noone was home all day to cause a draft, spool was new but guess it could be strain I run an ams so i had hoped that would sort snags out.
im printing the front sections atm and I think there bast the point where it went arry but we shall see.
I checked that and only the speed was different at the upper part as tye walls come up but it doesnt explain why it printed half the wall ok , went wrong then sorted its self on the last few layers, i mean its solid, a comment elswhere is a possible clog that cleared itself.
Yeah, I feel like the nozzle temp may have went screwy in that area or a partial clog as you said, next time you’re in there take a good look at the thermal paste and maybe redo it if your hot end has many hours on it.
