Do any of Bambu's printers have Safety certifications(TUV, U/L etc)

It is not much of an ask though: Understanding Discourse Trust Levels

Itā€™s in the general area of the SD card slot, and the other end of the cable visible here was draped down onto that hex nutā€¦ tucked right up in the corner so took me soooo long to find. It almost looks cut, but this was a brand new printer straight out of the boxā€¦

I isolated it so its not in the photo, but I touched the cable heading back toward the back of the unit to find +24v

Must admit I think I have taken for granted the lengths Prusa support will sometimes go to trying to keep your business, BL have stated that I can have an ā€œadvanced replacement machineā€- That I have to purchase at full price, and that price will be refunded once original machine is backā€¦ So the cheap sale price gets refundedā€¦ (may as well order a new one and get sale price!)

So I have just asked for a full refund and I will re-assess if I have been hasty to move away from Prusaā€¦ I donā€™t want to introduce something thats going to potentially not log some error and burn down an industrial unit (yes thatā€™s an extreme scenario) - Thanks for the insights into how out of date I was on my electrical certification labelling!

My understanding of the Bambu exchange policy, and your description of the process, is that the price of the new printer is refunded, not the sale price of the original printer. The new charge is intended as a deposit until they receive the old printer. If you have the original packing materials, and could wait, you could return the old machine and they would ship a new one to you once it was received at no charge. You might want to contact support again to clarify this.

Just in case anyone is interested in the answers I got from Bambu Support (who have been helpful) I am packing up the printer and getting a refund and will re-assess if P1s is best option for me, or possibly A1. Supports offer of me replacing the cable myself in a brand new printer for the princely sum of one whole reel made me giggle. I value my time a little more than that, stripping it down and replacing a wiring harness is worth a little more than thatā€¦ Iā€™ve got other printers I need to fix  Iā€™m a little hesitant to consider buying a few of these having seen so much arc and sparks and for no error message, fuse etcā€¦ if there was something combustible near it couldā€™ve ended badlyā€¦but as they state, there is no requirement for them to track anything like that (as I read it)

BL Support Reply:
We would like to kindly remind you that our printer meets certification standards. In practice, standards such as LVD and IEC specify insulation and isolation requirements but do not mandate a leakage warning function. Our printers are designed and manufactured in accordance with these standards. However, regulations do not require devices to have a mandatory leakage warning function in cases of potential wiring damage due to use or incidents.

According to feedback from our R&D team, although the 24V cable is damaged, it typically will not lead to more serious issues or pose an electric shock hazard.

For the current issue with your printer, if you are willing to replace the damaged cable yourself, we can provide the cable free of charge along with an additional roll of PLA Basic Refill filament as compensation.

Thanks, Iā€™m doing as you suggestedā€¦ boxing up and sending for refund.
