Do any settings survive a factory restore?

I ask this for a few reasons. First out of curiosity. I was wondering if certain things like printer hours get cleared after a factory restore. I also see posts about people modifying the printer G-code to do certain things (like bypass vibration calibration) and wonder if all of those changes would get restored back to original after a factory restore…

Very often I see posts about people who printed something and then the machine acts wonky, and even a factory restore does not fix it. Often times is is things than make no sense like the Z axis height which should always be set properly after it homes, unless something in the machine’s g-code has changed (like when people modify it to fix issues). So I was wondering if perhaps some things don’t get set back to true factory settings.

I just started using Bambu Studio and whenever I exit, it ask me if I want to save the changes. I always say no, because I really don’t know what or where those changes are being saved.

I cannot comment machine side as I do not know what they did to these locked enviro machines. I’ve dipped my toes into the drilled nozzle and it hated it had to revert. in doing a factory in mine it wiped everything.

Note however in the studio !!! the prompt has nothing to do with the machine. It’s asking you to save the edited settings you made on the left along with the “project” file of sorts depending what window. It’s all studio side. No a machine reset wont touch this, uninstalling/reinstalling while wiping the settings will.

It’s normal to make a bajillion profiles for certain things start exploring the saving! it literally…saves time ha!
