Do boolean operations increase strength?

do boolean operations result in stronger objects (by “melting” sketched items together) or does it make no difference for the slicing process?

For a boolean union operation, it definitely changes the strength but the strength will depend on what is being combined and the slicer settings. Where there were previously walls between items, the combined items will then have walls on their combined outside borders. The walls that were previously between the items will then be infill and will depend on the infill settings.

Thanks, I did not think of the walls between the items.
so the union should be at least be applied to eg shafts with one end attachement or cantelever constructions. ( possibly that might be a reason for braking off my shaft from the groundplate; although the infill in both was increased to 60%).
