I can’t find a tag that suits me to attach to this question. If I start the X1C without the SD card inserted, can I ask the X1C to find the card after it is inserted without manually switching the X1C off and on again? Does the interface provide such a function?
Adding an SD card to an X1C powered on will read automatically (at least the last time I tried).
But it is not you who asks for the printer to search. It will do it automatically.

If I follow the steps shown in your video, I’m prompted to insert an SD card. The card won’t be recognized until the X1C is switched off then back on again. X1C reports latest firmware.
Strange, but things may have changed.
If no one clarifies, I will test it in my X1C tomorrow and let you know if the same happens.

On the latest firmware, it takes longer for the card to be read. The wait can be up to a few minutes.
The screen will show a message stating external storeage not plugged in and asks the user to insert an SD card, then the message will change to external storage not available and asks the user to format the card, then briefly change into external files not available, then the reading of the files will begin. The process is slow.
Sending the file from Bambu Studio to the printer doesn’t run into this slowdown.

Maybe that’s the root of my problem. I can’t remember how long I waited before powering the printer off and on again, but I will test. I do have a fairly well-populated (many files and folders) SD Card. Thanks.
May I ask (curiosity) why you need to do this? I think I only took once the sd card from the X1C, as I can mange it easly without removing.
Sure. I like to routinely take the card out to perform a backup using my robust proprietary backup method. I find this method more reliable and quicker for local media on the computer than for media accessed over the network. I take the card out of the X1C, mount it as a local volume on my computer, perform the backup, eject it from the computer, reinsert it into the X1C. Thanks.
(BTW, I prefer many other comforts afforded by living in the dark ages. You don’t?)
I do so.
Yet for the some goal, I perfer the comfort of the FTP and script automation. But I do get the advantage of manual control the process.
