Do I need to install a hardened extruder if the hotend tip is hardened?

Two months ago I replaced the standard BL .4mm hotend with a FlowTech Hotend, CM2™ - Hardened .4mm Tip - Standard Flow for Bambu Lab X1 and P1 Printers. I also have a .6mm hardened tip but have printed with it yet.

I have no plans to print ASA, carbon fiber, ABS, etc.; just print PLA and PETG so I still have the original extruder installed and didn’t think hardened extruder was needed.

So far I haven’t had issues printing but wondered it might be best to install a hardened type.

You don’t need to upgrade the extruder unless you start printing abrasive filaments on a regular basis. If you think you might then I’d do it, otherwise there’s no reason you can’t use the hardened nozzles with the standard extruder.

I have already purchased and installed the FlowTech Hotend with a 0.4mm hardened tip. I did this because I have a muscle disease causing a weak grip and poor dexterity making it difficult to uninstall/reinstall Bambu Lab hotends. Changing the tip is very easy with the FlowTech Hotend.
