Bambu Labs Is Currently reselling a soldering iron ON SALE for $115! You can buy the same thing on the official companies website FNIRSI for Only $35! Or You can buy A Cordless One for $75! It’s Insane How Much there Marking it Up! That’s why I would reccomend NOT buying it from bambulabs!

If you compare the kits with the 100w GaN charger, the difference is smaller, but still quite a mark-up. (I’m using a $30 pinecil with my 65w phone charger, plenty good enough for heat sets)
News just in, reseller is charging more in order to make a profit, in other news, grass is green, the sky is blue and water makes things wet
Wait until you see the premium they charge on things like screws and wood sheets
For a different twist on it.
United States $115
United Kingdom £60
The U.S. price into Great British pounds £85.57.
The U.K. one includes 20% tax, the U.S. one doesn’t, so the U.K. comparison price is £50.
The U.S. price is 71% more expensive than the U.K. price.
A very rare win for the U.K.
The official original is half the U.K. price from Bambu Lab though.
With 100W adapter and case it is 98CAD not 55… vs 86CAD at Bambu. Bambu wins
If you are going to spend that much on a soldering iron then just get a Hakko.
If you’re just doing inserts a $10 pencil at amazon is more than adequate. If you dont plan to actually work on circuits and stuff this should be plenty. It’s when you get to working with PCBs, SMD/SMT, desoldering, reworking where temperature is very important you really benefit from the fancy stations.

$35 vs $115 is quite a difference. Are you sure these two amounts buy exactly the same thing?
Making a good point. If you are using it only for heat set inserts then buy the cheapest one you can find.
you’ll be appalled when you learn how much they mark up their filament lol
but anyways, I did the math for this a few months ago. it’s 1,531 points to buy the soldering iron from Bambu with gift cards (it was $125 then) or you could redeem 1,515 exclusive points ($99) to cash and get a nicer version (6 tips, plus a toolbox instead of a bag) https://www.fnirsi.com/products/hs-02?variant=46414045708506
I’m having troubles. I mean, I bought a box of pencils, because it was a little cheaper, so maybe that’s where my problem is. I’ve tried them un-sharpened and sharpened though, and it doesn’t seem to be making a difference. Eraser side or writing side, either. I thought maybe I had to apply the heat myself, but it caught on fire and I wasn’t able to use it. I didn’t much care for the smell of burning eraser.
It’s because you didn’t buy number 2
I bet its because you didnt buy a “$10.00” pencil,
They also seem to be making a huge profit on shipping charges as well, 50$ for parcel post while other vendors charge 25 dollars for priority mail. I refuse to buy anything else from Bambu labs unless I really have to.
That was my first though when I first saw the soldering iron.
Everyone keeps comparing cash prices and ignores Bambu vouchers. 80 € out of pocket somewhere else vs 120 € paid with reward gift cards at Bambu? For me, Bambu wins.
Welcome to the post tariff world.
Yup, when the item has cost you nothing, who cares if it was slightly overpriced
Hakko would a be disaster. It’s a worse iron for this, as it doesn’t have a digital temperature control. How are you going to insert heatsets into plastic, or weld plastic? Hakko is only for soldering, and even then I would say their cordless iron is gigantic and cumbersome e]to use.
