I can’t believe I’m the only one that is annoyed by the orbit speed. One wrist turn makes 3.5 rotations. It’s insane! I wrote to bambu and they told me:
“no one else complained about this”
So if you think that orbit speed is too fast to be useful write a support ticket and complain if you want them to do something about it. Ask them to implement the Orbit speed mutliplier that orca slicer has.

I know orca slicer has the “Orbit speed multiplier” setting, but I don’t trust bambu enough to use orca slicer. Some day they’ll do something to make orca slicer incompatible and it’ll break my printer.
While I totally agree with you, the statement they made “no one else complained about this”, pretty much tells you they dismissed this feedback as they always do. In fact, I have no idea why they even have a feedback section if just to ignore it.
Funny thing is, I just recently got a Creality K2 Plus in my office and although their implementation of Orca has its own fair share of bugs, the orbit function is one they actually fixed, it much more fluid and it’s also isolated to the right mouse click which has been a personal annoyance for me since day one. I find it very smooth now to navigate their orbit intentionally rather than today’s implementation of Bambu Slicer which if you know what I mean, if you left click and drag on an object and fail to make “precise” contact, you end up pivoting the damned build plate so I feel your pain.
I think the orbit speed is fine as it is. The orbit speed is tied to the speed and control of one’s mouse. Move one’s mouse fast and it orbits fast, move one’s mouse slowly and it orbits slowly. It is all in the touch and the finesse in the fingers. Space mice also work rather well in Bambu Studio. But it takes a little practice to do it well.
Many mice have a setting for speed, how much movement of the mouse equates to how much movement of the cursor.
My Logitech mouse is intended for gaming, it actually has a “shift” button (it’s actually got about a half dozen buttons, many of which I have never used) to switch between different mouse speeds on the fly. The difference from min to max is extreme. At the slowest settings I cover about 1/10th of my display moving across the full width of the mouse mat. At the fastest setting, half the mat is good for the entire screen. And it’s a big screen.
If your mouse is too sensitive, go in to your PC’s mouse settings and slow it down.
It is an amazing machine, with a 350mm “real” build volume. But at $1,500 it should be. I’ve only had it for a week, and this is my first foray into their CMS. What I like so far is the open architecture. However, at the beginning of the year they started to pull a Bambu-like maneuver by closing off their previously open RFID spool tags with encrypted tags. Let’s just say that so far they are making most of the right moves, but if you had asked me the same question about Bambu Labs in 2023, I would have said glowing things. I’ve become cautious about endorsing any Chinese 3D-printer company after being burned by Bambu closing off their architecture in January.
The Klipper firmware is right up any maker’s alley when it comes to customization. I only wish they would open up better support in Orca. Their version is missing some features, but overall it is head and shoulders above Bambu Slicer. Despite many reports of bugs and crashes, I haven’t encountered any yet, and I have about 50 hours on the machine in the last week.
One thing I did notice is that their community forum which uses the same forum software as here, is a wasteland of banal posts with little participation. So far, this community here has that going for it.
If I slow down my mouse to achieve reasonable orbit speed it’ll take 4 lifts of the mouse to reach the other end of the screen. and I have Full HD. Imagine for people that have 4k.
And I do have the resolution button on my mouse. If I press it every time I need to orbit and then press it again to be able to reach the profiles within reasonable timeframe it’ll take more time to play with bambu studio than to actually print.
What if bambu lab just added the orbit speed multiplier like Orca Slicer did. Then users who are fine with the speed won’t notice anything and users like me and Olias would change the speed and will also be happy. I can’t imagine that to be a hard thing to implement. just copy orca slicer code. Isn’t that the idea of open source?

My primary display is a 49" curved Samsung that’s 5120x1440. There is also a Dell 32" 2560x1440 right next to it. And a Samsung monitor/smart TV that’s 3840x2160.
In bambu studio same distance rotates twice. I’ve set the speed to 0.5 in orca slicer and feels like makerworld and printables.com - reasonable orbit speed.
I just realized why orbit speed feels even higher for me. I usually place the objects near the end of the plate for easier access and faster cooling (I place the plate half hanging).
Because orbit pivot point is the center of the plate and not center of the selected object the faster orbit speed is amplified. Alexosbourn also mentioned that here:
Again something that Orca Slicer has. These are simple things, but improve QOL a lot.
I’m angry about this, but I can’t say bambu are typical Chinese business. Their products are well thought. The only problem is the support. I can’t make them pass this request to the developers. In fact I hard a bug in my A1 and it took me two months to convince them there was a bug. Other than that the whole product line of bamub looks like well thought. Maybe not perfect, but who’s perfect.
So about this issue - bambu said no one complained. And that’s probably the case. It takes a while to write a support ticket and argue with the support, and people don’ tdo it. So please whoever needs this option - ask for it.
The best way to report bugs and feature requests to developers is to use GitHub.
Developers seldom look at this forum.
The support people are not techs, may not have any 3D printing experience, and are likely working from a rigid script when you do manage to get them to listen to what you are saying.
GitHub is where the developers are, where discussions of bugs and new ideas take place, and where you can see what they are working on (and not).
Through GitHub, I have been able to draw the Bambu developers’ attention to several small bugs and have them fixed quickly. New features take longer, I suspect because they need approval from layers of upper management.
