Does bambu even care about the product requests?

does bambu lab even look at these product requests? i’m looking through them and it looks like a way to just vent frustration over issues with their products. what will it take for bambu to listen to their buyers to make things better and easier? i thought it was a constructive way for users to interact with bambu with bambu responding.

Bambu may not typically respond but they do read the forum. You can make your product improve request but do realize it may not be a top priority and there may even be reasons they can’t implement the suggested improvement. That being said, “you’ll never get what you don’t ask for”.

do they fulfill any requests?

A lot of companies will do contract development if you have a genuine offer. A place I worked for a while back would do feature development for ~2 million per 3months of development time

I … doubt this is in scope, so maybe you should just send them the suggestion and call it a day

We have seen user requests implement in the past. Examples like the measuring tool in Bambu Studio and more recently low power mode.

In a nutshell; no!

The only time I have seen Bambu augment their product is when it was to promote Makerworld, or when the team at Orca Slicer implemented it. Then and only then did they implement in Bambu Studio but let’s be candid, all they had to do was take the Orca Slicer source code which itself is a fork of Bambu Studio and simply fold it in. I have yet to witness any example of a Bambu-first implementation or for that matter and acknowledgement or response to any thing posted here and I’ve been here shortly after the forum launched when it was just the X1 and P1.

This is a community support forum. It’s a constructive way for users to interact with users to help each other and discuss 3D printing. There are much better ways to handle other items:

Problem or suggestion for Bambu Studio:

Bambu Studio Github

Problem or suggestion for MakerWorld:

Open a MakerWorld ticket

Problem or feedback on firmware:

There are individual threads here for each version.

Want to talk about inane nonsense?

Makerworld Community Tab

Feedback or new parts request for MakerSupply:

Last but not least, printer problems and you don’t want community help:

I’ve talked to them at trade exhibtions, they do monitor what’s going on and what people ask for.

But it’s unlikely they have the time to reply to every individual query.

I do not think the OP or anyone here expects a direct response. That is not the issue.

The issue is that Bambu has shown open contempt for its user community.

One simple example: on numerous occasions, users requested the ability to set the chamber light default mode. These requests appeared repeatedly in the “Product request” forum.

Bambu did not respond, which by itself would be disappointing but understandable. Instead of merely ignoring the repeated request, they implemented the exact opposite behavior - making the chamber light permanently on.

That is not passive neglect. That is an active decision to disregard clear community feedback and move in the reverse direction. One cannot shake the sense of: “Yeah? You don’t like our baby, we’ll show you” kind of defiance. All they had to do was ignore us as the normally do, instead they chose to illustrate “who’s the boss”.

Whcih printer are we talking about here? The H2D originally had the light on (using 10 watts or 1/2 or half the machine’s standby power), and since a few months ago the new firmware turns it off after printing if the printer is set to power saving mode. (Or at least, mine does).

X1 and P1 series. By the time the H2 came around that change was almost two years old.

You can do a search for the phrase “chamber light” but you’ll get hit with too many posts. Control of the chamber light default has been an example of one of the most commonly asked features.

Same for the P2S, chamber light can be set to turn off in powersaving, or even while printing.

I don’t think it’s deliberately trying to spite the user for disliking their defaults, I think it’s more than it’s just commercial drain on their dev time.

Not defending Bambu here - you should be able to contro the chamber light on a P1 or X1 - but if they are legacy machines I can understsand why they might just wire the light permanently on. The simpler your code is, the cheaper it is, and the less likely it is to break whenever you do an update.

If that were true, then the lowest-cost option would have been to leave it alone.

Instead, they chose to expend development resources to change the product in a way users explicitly said they did not want.

There are only two realistic explanations:

First, they simply ignored the suggestion box entirely, which is consistent with the broader pattern being discussed here.

Second, they intentionally overrode repeated community feedback and pushed their own preferred behavior anyway.

Either way, this is not a case of limited dev time. It is an active decision to disregard user input. That does not reflect a company acting in its user community’s interest.

assumning it fully works, then yes, leave it. but if not …

Third option: There’s a non-English version of this forum to serve non-western-hemiphere users; that forum and it’s ‘requests’ are weighted heavier than this space.

The company is acting in its higher priority users best interest.

I don’t understand what that means. Can you explain and provide examples of what you mean?

Last activity Sept 2025, and rarely used before that.

Where do Chinese BL users make their comments/ request/ complaints? It isn’t here.

Same as most web sites, on their own country domain

That’s the store but I can’t find a forum anywhere there. Makerworld.cn doesn’t have a forum link like the global site does. Is there an official Chinese Bambu forum? The sub forum user.174 linked to has 14 threads, two of them are product requests… neither fulfilled.
