I bought the cutting kit and have been unsuccessful in getting it to cut out anything accurately.
The software doesn’t seem to complain, and it seems like it should work, but in practice the cutter is always incorrectly offset when cutting.
Even when it goes to self-locate using the printed markings, it moves the head to the incorrect position to read the marking.
Is this expected because of the lack of Bird Eye Camera?
Has anybody gotten it to work at all?

Quick note here, the firmware required for the cutting module to work says it can’t calibrate without the laser module, but when I did it without having to install the Laser module (although, my H2D IS a laser combo, meaning it has the hardware pre-installed, it did NOT require me to install the module before calibrating with the cutter, so I’m pretty sure that’s fixed now)
That’s not enough, you need the full laser module to calibrate the camera.
But even still, like I said the software makes no mention of any of this, nor does it seem to lack the birds eye camera.
I paid money for something that doesn’t work AT ALL, big guys please comment.

There are definitley people with more experience than me with this, but this is a community forum, not the support team. The Bambu team is VERY busy with all the new firmware stuff that’s going on with the models, should be saved as a last resort.

They are selling the kit in their store and there seems to be no support/documentation for this advertised capability.
Not sure how you do it but the location markers are only used in a “print and cut” process where when you confirm the cut, the app will first send your image to your regular ink printer and add the markers around it. The app will then ask to place that picture on the bed and launch the cut from the printer. I works really well, no need for the bird-eye camera. When the firmware will be updated to use the BE camera, I believe it will be able to cut around any picture you place on the bed (although I don’t have a laser version so cannot be 100% sure).

Are you placing the piece of paper aligned with the “blade” line on the bed and not the “pen”
Yes, following the instructions in the software about where to place the paper (aligned to bed).
What paper or vinyl are you printing on? I found that anything glossy has a problem (had some luck with different brands not so good with others). I have had pretty good luck with matte vinyl. Also on glossy I tried applying scotch tape on registration marks but was unsuccessful.
I wouldn’t trust the cutter with more then basic projects. You can get good results with any cutter if you know what you are doing. But, you will slam your head against the wall trying to make this thing do detailed work, especially print and cut.
I sold my cutter together with the H2D. Wont be purchasing one for the H2C, software is terrible, cut accuracy not the best. Maybe ill try again when things improve and you are able to calibrate the camera without the laser.
I’m just curious why didn’t you like the h2d? At least that’s what I’m assuming since you said you sold it? I almost pulled the trigger a couple of weeks ago but didn’t.
I loved it, thats why I got the H2C. It can do everything the H2D could do plus quality of life convenience with the nozzle swapping.
I would have went down the upgrade kit path, but I had a large collection of build plates and nozzles (that were no longer compatible), so it was easier to sell the H2D as a package then sell those items on their own. Also 6+ hours of work to upgrade it did not sound appealing to me, especially with the rats nest of cables and plugs.
I wonder if 3d scanner spray would help. may just soak into the sticker. Its basically foot powder spray that disappears after a while.
@maxim3D were you able to sell it yet? Ive had mine on craigslist for $1,300. Almost had a buyer but then he checked bambus website and backed out because they are so cheap now. I may end up gifting it to a buddy.

Yes its sold, but I live in a big city (Toronto) so there are lots of eyeballs on FB. It was listed before the H2C came out. Ive sold 3 bambu printers over the years, the key is having lots of nice photos with good description. List all extras like build plates, spare parts, nozzles etc, also I always throw in some filament to make it more appealing.
