Does MakerWorld do anything about people selling out designs on Aliexpress?

So I came across this seller on Aliexpress selling my fidget along with another design in the same listing. They didn’t install mine correctly but anyone with experience dealing with Aliexpress?

I mean you can contact them if its an exclusive model, but realistically all bambu can do is send a C&D for that exact instance of the model, at which point the store can just relist it or someone else can and the process starts again

I was unable to get them to intervene on someone selling one of my models on a website as they were selling prints of the models and not the raw model files

Is yours in the exclusive program? But if i recall correctly no, they only act if the files are hosted on a typical file hosting site. (Crealitycloud, thingiverse, printables, makeronline etc)

So if it’s not posted on another file hosting site they won’t do anything? That’s pretty useless…they only care if someone goes to another site to download your designs. It’s pretty straightforward to get the files off those other sites, don’t really need their help with that.

How should I put this? I’ve dealt with aliexpress quite a bit in the past. You can also go to Reddit and read lots of opinions/tips in the aliexpress sub.

A at the end of the day, you always end up back where you started:

Nobody cares. It takes months for cases to be processed. Unless you are a large corporation with a good reputation, it is a gamble whether your request will end up in the trash or not.

Furthermore, one must take into account that they have a completely different legal basis.

Let me put it this way, give it a try, but don’t expect anything.

They’ve expressed an interest in helping and in the past have flexed some muscle resulting in physical print takedowns, but essentially yes, they are only interested in protecting exclusive model files. Which, not coincidentally, are the only things they have a legal basis to intervene in. And for those when they do they are not acting on your behalf or to help you, they are acting to help themselves and protect their rights.
