Does the h2c ultimate kit come with extra powersupply for second ams2?

I understand that when adding more than 1 ams2 to the H2 platform you need a extra powersupply on the second one (and 3th etc etc) my question is given that the package is called the ‘ultimate’ its unclear to me if that includes the extra powersupply needed.

Thanks for reply, first post so hope i follow the rules.

Daniel.

As far as i can see at least in the european Store the Switching Power Supply is not included. They offer it as an 20% Discount AddOn at actual EUR 25,59. Also the Vision Encoder Plate is not included, if this Question araises too.

Tnx i ordered so quickly 18Nov i didn’t notice it (ordered 6min after website went live). Guess ill use the black friday sale to add some extra parts …

My order method is trained by years of apple buying… I just pressed ‘ultimate’ package and gogogo… apple pay… yes … cling sound from apple watch… Its bad i know… But thanks for the info. I feel its a little weird to call it the ultimate package so its ready for full use and not include it no?

You can still use both to dry, without a power supply. Just not both at the same time. The power supply is only for drying. One ams 2 can dry with just the power from the printer

Too late i already added a extra HT can’t have 2 ams2’s and only one HT that looks weird. and added the powersupply and a few other parts.

I have the H2C Ultimate package on order. Looking at the power supply page it says the following:

  1. Connecting multiple AMS 2 Pro units together:
  • If the drying function is enabled for multiple units, each AMS 2 Pro requires its own Switching Adapter.
  • Even if only one unit is drying, the system power may automatically reduce, leading to insufficient drying. It is recommended to use a power adapter to ensure optimal drying performance.

It doesn’t say “each additional AMS 2 Pro beyond the first will require its own power supply to enable drying.” It sounds like to get “optimal drying performance”, I need to order two power supplies.

Anyone know if I need to order two of the power supplies?

Ill wait until others reply but you can only dry when not printing so what else would use power when the main unit is feeding ams number 1. What i always understood from the H2S/H2D is that one can be powered from the main unit and all others needed their own power if you want multiple to dry… So thats why i ordered a 1 extra power block now…

No, you could buy an AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit for X1/P1 Series just to get the adapter. I did this a few days ago. However, yesterday I got an email saying they were in stock on Bambu’s website. I quickly bought 2 as they are hard to find. Buy the kit or sign up for email stock notification. There sold out everywhere. I was really hoping it would come with the ultimate kit. Mines come today so I’ll know then. Currently, It’s says ETA: November 26th. You’ll have to be quick as they go fast. Lastly, you can get the AMS 2 Pro Upgrade Kit for X1/P1 Series at Micro Center. Although, you have to purchase in store as they’re not shipping it.

So i should be happy i was able to order one today for the second ams2 ? … still little unclear now you will also use 1 powered from the h2c and one powered by itself no?

I’m happy you got one! Yes, only one can be powered by the H2C while drying. The AMS HT comes with its own power cord so we’re ok there. Any additional AMS’s will have to power themselves. So for each additional AMS you’ll need a power adapter. The second AMS unit was just delivered! I’m waiting on H2C unit now! It’s coming in the next few hours.

H2 series can power multiple AMS2 pro for printing

For drying here are the rules:
It can power any single AMS2 to dry
BUT
If you are printing at the same time. You can dry on an AMS2 while printing -IF- the AMS2 you are using to dry is not involved in the printing or not used as a auto spool backup supply for the current print.
IF you meet that criteria, it can power a single AMS2 to dry while printing
BUT
If it is printing and drying simultaneously, you will not have full power to dry as the H2 diverts powers to the printing function first and uses leftover to power the drying function.

TL:DR buy a power supply for each AMS2 and then you don’t have to worry or be swapping plugs etc

Ahh that explains it better normally you can have the ams not in use in dryer mode since thats not involved in the printing. But than you might overload the printer powersupply… sounds best to add a powersupply to both indeed. much tnx and ill order one again and see when it ships… To me drying while printing is always a bad idea but didn’t think about if that ams would not be in use for the current print… So advice all ams and ht units its own power also seems best for all powersupplies involved really… Still feel they should be included in the ultimate package seems best for all involved.

Thanks for the advice! And explanation!

Only if you want to dry on more than 1, the H2 can power 1 AMS2 while drying, regardless of which one it is, if you want 2 drying at the same time you need an adapter for the second
