So something interesting happened,
i cleaned my P2S screen with a Micro fiber cloth and all of a sudden the screen got scratched
is there a chance the screen has a screen Protector on it or what could it be?
i don’t have a p2s so can’t confrim 100% but usually the screens come with a thin film layer - wouldn’t call it a screen protector in the sense of the phone ones, as it’s supposed to be peeled off, it’s only for protection during shipment and installation
but again, not sure if that is the case with the p2s, maybe do a quick google/youtube search
No, it doesnt come with a screen protector
As @h3li0 said, there is some packaging plastic on the screen, but there is a 99 percent chance you took that off. It does not have on like on a phone.

I’m in UK, mine came with one, I’ve replaced it as it got scratched…
I guess I am thinking of it similar to a screen protector for a phone.
I thought that the one installed was more of a “protector” so you are not touching the LCD directly. Not like the printer is meant to be used without it.
You still have the bezel and touch layer in front of it so you’re never touching the actual lcd.

i think what you refer to is a layer you find in OLED Screens it may look like a screen Protector but if you pull it off the screen is broken for good

Screen protectors are not all they are cracked up to be. Besides, are you expecting to drop your 3D printer on the ground? I’m sure the whole printer will go out before you damage the screen.
That said, there are generic full page screen protectors out there that you cut to size. Dive in, have fun.
this is not about drop Resistance, if i drop that Printer, the screen would be the least of my concerns.
its just so i have a way better resistance for scratches
and the ones you cut are made of plastic so it will not change a thing
How is it even possible to scratch the screen with a fiber cloth? Have you put it in the gravel before?

Well, if you wash your hands really not that much to worry about. However how is a plastic screen protector not change anything. What’s on your fingers? Diamonds?
Mine tend to pick up anything that has been near them. They’ve picked up plastic off my bench I had no idea was there. I’ve stopped using them and just use quality paper towels.
Yes, it does. Mine also scratched really easily and I was slightly upset until I realised it was just a plastic layer that could be peeled off
After looking for the same thing as my friend had a small scratch on his, I sent this post to him and can say that it has indeed a protective plastic film.
Doesn’t let me add photos for some reason, I’ll try it later from the pc.
