Does the status indicator light bar ever shut off?

So I’m referring to the light bar right under the print bed. I think its officially called the “status indicator” and it shows print progress by progressively illuminating over the course of the print.

When the print finishes, it starts to pulsate as a way of letting you know the print is done.

But it never stops pulsating. Is there a way to make it stop? Is there some condition/action its waiting for me to do to tell it to stop?

(My old printer’s chamber light would pulsate at the end of a print, but it would stop doing that as soon as you clicked a menu button telling it that you’ve removed the print.)

Mine also does this, I have not found a way other than going into settings and turning the status bar light setting off.

Mine turns off with the screen when the printer is idle.

Try changing your screen off time to like 5 minutes.

Yes, I’ve noticed it shuts off when the screen shuts off. But if I tap the screen to wake it up, the bar starts pulsating again.

I find pulsating lights, when not actually trying to get my attention, to be quite annoying.

Perhaps different modes would be good:

  • Normal (what it is now, on when the screen is)
  • While Printing (only when printing)
  • Only Errors (only when there’s an error/warning)
  • Off

Could always remove it if it bothers you that much. Looks like a 30 second affair. Replace H2D Status Indicator | Bambu Lab Wiki

I would love on option to have it only on while printing or if stopped by an error. If I look up and there is no light I would know the print is finished. I currently have mine off completely as I cant stand the light on 24/7.

try using gcode as the light bar is controled by gcode

If it’s controlled by GCODE then you could probably just add a line to the end GCODE.

I don’t mind the light bar in general. I just want it to stop pulsating after there’s a reasonable expectation that I’ve attended to the printer once its done printing. You know, by be tapping the “print finished” notification on the screen, the printer detecting a door open/close, some modest timeout, or a combination of the above.

My last printer (different brand) had the whole chamber light pulsate when a print was finished. But the moment you clicked a “Print Removed” message on the UI, it stopped doing that.
