It appears that the answer to not having to do the calibration is ‘use someone else’s software’ (Orca Slicer), OK, I downloaded it for the Mac, and built it from source.
I’m sorry about saying things that you consider not true, I said it was hard to turn off the calibration (one time, not on every print) and saving the gcode in a file so I can just print it over and over with a single ‘reprint’
In the company bambu slicer, I don’t see anything about being able to edit gcode at all. The options are very limited, If the company’s answer to that is ‘use someone else’s software’ that is pretty bad.
As for being very angry… Yeah, sorry about that, I was very frustrated by several things that night, and Yes, I should have toned it down.
One thing that was frustrating was the limited space on a printer that I had intended on printing a square box that the bottom was important for. Honestly, I’m not bothered by it releveling the bed each time, although, really 1 in 10 prints should be more than enough for that.
I think one issue with my ‘saying things that are not true’ is you are looking at a 3rd party’s software (based on their software), and my statement was explicitly stating: Windows, (Bambu Studio), which, unless someone would want to say where it can be turned off in THAT software package instead of calling me a liar
The actual preferences screen in that software is just this:
Clearly, you can see where you edit the gcode in this screen, super easy to see, it’s right… .Er, well?
Oh, to be fair, you can also turn off the calibration in the print options right before you print in this dialog:
Just click the button and done!
Yes, OrcaSlicer is a better software package, but not really the point I was making. If they want to say that is their software for use with this printer, then should say so in their website and not point people to their version.
BTW: To my knowledge, those are the ONLY preferences that I have found, And the per filament options in Bambu Studio is:
Name, color, and temp… IF you save it to a file, sneaker-net it over to the printer and plug it in to it, then you can turn off other things. But that isn’t exactly printing from the Windows version of Bambu Studio.
I do like this printer (if I can get the AMS working again anyway, I have a ticket about that), and I am using both Orca and Bambu Slicer, and it is mostly working great. Wish it was bigger, but such is life.
