Don't join "Exclusive Model"

I started my journey with Makerworld on October 18th this year by uploading my first models – keychains featuring car brand logos. After reaching 100 prints, I became eligible to join the “Exclusive Models” program, which I promptly did. Before joining the program, I reviewed similar projects to ensure my models met the required criteria. Once I was confident they complied with the rules, I set these keychains as exclusive models.

To my surprise, after a month, all my models were removed from the program, and the points I had earned were taken away. As a result, I lost over 1500 points, leaving my balance negative. I immediately reached out to support to clarify the situation, but their response was a generic message stating that my models were “too 2D.”

I was shocked, as I noticed that there are still models in the program that are equally “2D” and have been there for over a year. (Evidence in the form of a screenshot is attached below.)

My advice to you is to avoid joining this program. There will always be some guideline that you are allegedly violating, leading only to frustration and wasted time. Your peace of mind is worth far more than the extra 25% points. It’s simply not worth it.

Yes, you’re very late to this party. Look around, the threads are…there.

Their punitive removal of 125% of the points and not the 25% difference during an introductory period during which they have been rewriting the rules. is an example of how they have decided their mistakes can be corrected and ours cannot.

It is a one-sided relationship.

LOL…check mine they just denied my gift card redemption request, claiming that i have fake downloads and i do mutual boosting (i only got 3 tokens since i joined lol)

i started to suspect that not everyone will be able to enjoy their points ^^

Wrong thread, You probably wished to post that in some giftcard-related thread…

However on the topic of redemtpion declined and points deduction - going by helpful comments in The DANGER of boosts. What to avoid I strongly suggest you request an actual manual review if you actually haven’t done anything wrong and been incorrectly flagged.

oh yeah must’ve been reading here and wanting to write there :upside_down_face:

Welcome to the club. I had about 1600 points removed over the last month.

One-sided relationship is probably the best word. Before joining the exclusive program, I received gift cards without additional verification. Now I’m waiting for the third day to redeem one gift card (and I have points for another 10), and now I see that there may be a problem with it. And I wanted to use the points for a new P1S. There is still a promotion until December 3rd.

Were your points refunded to your account after your gift card application was rejected?

Yes they refunded the points excluding the deduction.

But i cant know if i can redeem point again or they will decline and deduct again.

A note that no one else has mentioned yet. The dates on those models show the model’s original publish date, not the date it joined the Exclusive program. The Exclusive program has only been open for a month & a bit, and the rules around 2D models in particular have been a bit iffy in that period (EG: weren’t officially against the rules initially, but now are).

Exactly.

This is where I failed too. Even though I tried to redeem only one gift card from normal points, I received a message that my models do not meet the exclusivity requirements (according to Bambu rules, they are too 2D). 3 models were kicked out of the program and I lost 56 points. Okay, I accept that, but I still don’t understand being penalized by not being able to redeem my normal points. And another question: once these models have been removed from the program, will there still be checks when I try to redeem gift cards again? Time to promote the black week is slowly running out.

I just sent them a support message asking these questions. We need clarity and some answers or I’m not going to be involved in this. So far my profit has been $0, and it’s not due to having no points lol.

The models listed are clearly in violation of the rules. I would recommend also reporting those that you’re complaining are still in the program – they will be removed . Let’s work together to improve the site

The exclusive program is really tiring me First, 2 models were removed from the programmer with related points because some clever person thought to publish my models elsewhere (according to the rules I have to look for the models myself elsewhere), then returned after long protests. Now suddenly after MONTHS or since the beginning of the exclusive program a parametric model was removed from me!! By the way without any warning in explanation. Simply the program points were subtracted.

Now, when I read the rules, there was no ban on inserting parametric models, it was simply removed from the program after these months and after a thousand revisions of the points!!!

Here the thing is degenerating completely, models are entrusted exclusively to Makerworld to be protected and generate a small income without publishing them elsewhere and then you find yourself with points stolen goods and lost earnings and, as if that were not enough, stolen and unprotected models, while clearly stolen models are becoming popular with impunity from other sites.
Not to mention models that are impossible to print and only have a screenshot image.
Reports that go unresolved and unanswered, regulations that change from one day to the next (you can’t spend your time looking for the ambiguous clause every day which is interpreted as desired by Makerworld).
This is unnerving! I used to believe in this platform, now I’m starting to doubt the seriousness and interpretations of the rules.

I will definitely not publish an exclusive model anymore, it is not convenient at all, better to keep the models to be published elsewhere.

At this rate the quality of the models will continue to decline. For the record, I opened a ticket with no response of course.

Again, we apologize for the mistake. Models using the Parametrix Model Maker are allowed in the Program since we believe it provides certain functionality and the ability to be customized. It was falsely removed and we have reinstated your models back into the program. We apologize and thank you for your understanding.

Thanks, I hope no such mistakes happen

In this instance it shows that even your staff is not sure about the guidelines of Exclusive Model Program. I very much urge you to adjust the language of the guidelines to be as objective as possible ideally with a way to make model validation possible via automated means.

Here’s what ChatGPT had to say about EMP guidelines as of 28th Nov 2024: ChatGPT - Subjective Guidelines Revision

Back when you’ve announced the program I’ve made waaaay too long post over at MakerWorld Exclusive Program is now Live! - #231 by Johnny_Bit in order to share some suggestions on objective vs subjective language and possible improvements of the guidelines as they were on 15th Oct 2024

Also - based on posts by multiple people of their experiences I really suggest to lower penalties for failing to guess whether model fits into EMP or not, because with current guidelines it’s an educated guess at best and a high-stakes calvinball that has huge consequences point-wise (especially for people who honestly thought their models are “good enough” for EMP)

Finally, I’ll echo CR3: Thanks in this instance for doing the right thing, correcting the mistake and I hope no such mistakes happen again to CR3 nor any other honest creator

I don’t want to contradict you fundamentally, but if you use LLMs, never use even the slightest implication or bias in the prompt. By asking what guidelines are “very open for interpretation”, the AI will do anything to fit things into this description.

For comparision: ChatGPT - Exclusive Model Guidelines Summary

You must be very careful to use AI in this way, I think even my question could be too biased, because asking “how clear” it is, implies it’s clear.

AI has full human knowledge, but it’s not smarter than a child.
