I rated a print profile, and my rating was taken down with a message saying that I violated the “Community Guidelines”, the details said that my rating wasn’t based on the print profile.
I copied the screenshot of the rating review I wrote below, can you tell me what I did wrong?
I think that my review rating was precisely about the print profile picture not matching what I downloaded. Isn’t that a requirement for uploading? I was commenting on that.
You rated the Profile, you could have went to the model page & made a comment.
You could have also reported the profile or upload your own profile…JMO
Almost any review is taken down if the designer reports it. Ratings mean so little because the numbers are being manipulated.
I would copy your rating over to a comment, report the profile, report the model.
I would have uploaded an improved print profile, but the license on the model was restrictive.

If i got it right then there’s no point in reporting for AI violations (or any other violation) since Makerworld ignores those kind of users in their report actions.

Interestingly, when I went back and looked the images on the print profile were updated to more precisely match the printed object. I didn’t check the print profile settings.
If you care… the lid in the picture of the model I printed was a fraction of a sphere, and in the image of the print profile the plane cut the sphere below the widest circumference.
But in the print profile shape, it was cut at the point of the hemisphere. Not a major item, but it was obvious in the hand after printing.
Also, the print profile didn’t include the “fuzzy skin” that was obviously on the lid in the picture.
And there were two plates in the print profile, with two colors of objects.
Oddly, two of the different colored objects were on plate 1, and the other plate had one object with a single color.
Just bizarre print profile setup. The model was actually pretty nice. But the pics were fake, and the print profile was just a “phone it in” kind of thing.
I also added adaptive layer height on the hemispherical object so that the top several layers would have minimal layer height…
People that make money for @MakerWorld , so @MakerWorld ignores violations and let’s them do what they want.
I don’t know for certain but you rated the profile but in your review you say you changed a bunch of parameters. Not arguing if for better or worse but without printing from the actual profile I could understand it being rejected.

Yeah, I can see that being a valid criticism if I had complained about a poor print result, but I didn’t.
Well the point is that you are supposed to complain about the print result. You didnt do that.
All the points you made were valid, but I wouldnt add them to a print profile rating because they are not explicitly stated in the guidelines.
I’m just chiming in to reinforce this. My reports are routinely ignored.
A lot of it is the lack of follow up from the system. Most of them that I think did not go through because I did not receive the message, actually did when I go to check.
Most of my reports get accepted, even if it sometimes takes days or even weeks.
Tip: Use simple language, short sentences, and facts instead of explanations.
If you need more than three sentences, you might as well skip the report.
I keep getting notifications to rate a profile but I NEVER use the uploader’s profile, mainly because we print in ABS 99% of the time so I need to tweak it to print properly with ABS.
I would recommend rating a profile, especially if positively, despite changing print settings to print with ABS. There’s a lot more stuff going on in the designer’s profile besides material considerations.
If you printed with the same orientation, support settings, etc, I feel like that is deserving of a rating. It’s not the wild west of slinging raw STLs anymore.
I usually change things though, I change number of walls, infill %, infill type, layer height, etc. I’m not going to rate a 0.4 nozzle/0.2mm/2 wall/10% grid infill PLA profile when all I did was take the 3D model and I changed it to ABS, 0.6 nozzle, 0.3mm layers, 4 walls, 15% gyroid infill. It’s apples to oranges at that point.
This is where Printables has a better rating system where you’re rating the model, not the print settings.

I think that there is a bit of truth to the “Makerworld” being biased towards making money for Bambu. Sure, that is what makes the world go ‘round, and I am tryin’ to be a points ■■■■■ too (but I will be a principled ■■■■■ ).
But from the perspective of getting decent ratings on models and print profiles, it seems like there could be a better way, like having a ratings for Concept, Design, Aesthetics, Production Profile, Results? Like “Meta Critic” I wonder if we could create a browser plugin that sits on top of chrome-like browsers and allows those types of ratings that enhance the MakerWorld experience. Maybe I’ll put down the filament and do some vibe coding.
