Dragging on surface 🚢

Hey guys,

I think I might have found the issue with color contamination for lightbox making.

Anyone know what causes this dragging on the surfac

e?

Your print is massively over extruding. This results in the top layer having high “ridges” of filament that catch the nozzle while positioning even though it has lifted off of the print. If you fix your extrusion issues the nozzle drags you see should disappear as well.

You didnt mention your printer, but many of the default profiles for printers include “reduce infill retraction” which can disable Z hop for certain motions, and you look like you need all the z hop help you can get. Make sure that is full disabled, in the “other” tab.

Strong agree w/ Jon that your extrusion flow rate is either very high or the camera is playing tricks on us. You might also benefit from quality->small area flow compensation as it looks way worse in the smaller zones than it does in the large flats.

Thank you, whats the best way to calibrate filament on the A1 printer?

Thanks bullocks, I will try to disable it and see if that makes a difference

The wiki has a good page about flow calibration.
