When teaching my kids how to drive (with a trailer in particular) I’ve been thinking it would be nice to have some toy-like model car with a trailer, and a functioning steering wheel on the roof, to show or experiment parking, reversing around a corner, things like that. Some people intuitively understand how your rear wheels (let alone a trailer) take a different track than your front wheels in a sharp turn, other people need it explained…
It should be fairly big, like 15-20 cm for the car alone, and proportions, overhang and turning radius should be fairly accurate to scale. Ideally I’d have a few trailers with different properties, showing the impact of a big or small overhang.
Does anyone know of a model (just the car for a starter) resembling this at all? Or do I need to design all of it myself from scratch? Perhaps that could be lucrative in terms of points but my time is scarce.
