E3d HF ObXidian clog

So I had a wicked clog in my E3D HF obxidian hotend that wouldn’t let it extrude when using materials under 270c and I tried cold pulling it 20 times with no prevail but I finally found a method to get it to happen, put it in a vice and use a mini torch, use nylon filament and get it hot till it starts to extrude the fresh nylon……when it cools down and it’s time to start the cold pull, just wave the torch flame over the very tip of the nozzle every few seconds but take it slow and start pulling out the filament with a lot of pressure to where it starts stretching slightly then let it rest from the flame for a few seconds so it stops stretching while pulling and repeat till it lets loose. Here are some pics of what my cold pulls look like, I don’t see anything obvious in them but I’m guessing it’s solidified in the nylon in one of the channels bc my problem is solved. I hope this helps someone from saving their expensive well worth upgrade bc it truly is a fantastic hotend with real results.

So far, I have not had a clog but I suspect it’s a matter of when, not if.

What tangible benefit do you get from the ObXidian nozzle? They are not cheap.

E3D, being an Official Bambu Lab aftermarket product so my interest is about expanding my printers capabilities.
What does a .4mm Obxidian bring to the table that the .4mm Bambu Lab nozzle does not?

I print alot of polymaker abs/sunlu abs, stock hotend volumetric flowrate at 270c was 21, with the e3d Im around 29 and there is head room there I was past 35mm3s at the same temps when testing but I stoped there. What really impressed me was petg, stock hotend sunlu petg was around 17 at 255c with the e3d 27mm3s. Also I seen a video on yt that layer adhesion improves also. I use petg for orginizers and stuff around my work space and im cutting petg print times by 1/3…also im seeing alot less vfas nb/c of the speed jump. I ordered a Pheatus Conch hf after my e3d clogged and gave up on it for a month or so but the pheatus hotend for the price you cant beat it…flowrates are about + 10 over stock with abs and + 8 with petg…I havent tried pc/pa yet but I put one on all 3 of my p1s printers just for the gain of layer adhesion not speed. But Im so happy to have the e3d back working I have a ton of profiles/presets for it and did not want to put out that kind of money again…but it is worth it imo for the e3d just for petg printing 1/3 faster, the pheatus hf is a no brainer for the price.
