Easiest way to send different prints to different printers

I want to buy a second printer. I have two use cases:

  1. Send parts of a multi-plate print to different printers
  2. Use the printers for completely separate projects. I don’t care if I have to have multiple instances running, or even two different computers.

I don’t understand the Big Picture

I assume I will need to bind the new printer to studio, so two printers will be bound.

Do i HAVE to use multiple device management? I will have different AMS units attached to each printer. Can these be independent since the prints are completely different.

If anything gets in the way of using the two printers completely independently, I guess I’ll have to create a new user account? Thanks for your help

No, you don’t have to do that. There is a tool for that if you have multiple printers:

“Bambu Farm Manager” is an application suite designed for managing multiple printers.

I have a few questions if I might… It looks like you use bambu studio to prepare the plate (color choices, etc) and export the gcode file. You then use the farm manager to create a task, make your choices (bed leveling, etc) and click Create Task. Since the next part of the “howto” doc mentions how to monitor the job, I’m assuming that clicking “Crate Task” starts the print?

If your two printers are the same model [and in similar states of repair :slight_smile: ] you can hold one Slicer Machine profile for them all. At print time, just select which one to send the job to.

Don’t overthink this. It’s as simple as adding the second printer to your Bambu account. Then from (one instance) of Bambu Studio you can pick which printer you want and select “Print Plate" which will slice the print for that specific printer, transfer and start it. You can then do the same for your second printer. You can monitor/control each printer by simply selecting them from the device drop down menu in Bambu Studio. You don’t need Farm manager or even to enable multi device management.

As JonRaymond wrote I’m doing for some months now. One P1S limited edition and one P2S, each printer with more than 1 AMS.

It’s really that simple.

Although I tend to use Orca with the P1S.

I’ve heard about the Orca slicer, can you tell me some of the advantages?
