Eddy Current Sensor

I was having an issue with my eddy current sensor on my H2D. This was after printing in ABS for the 1st time, I have been using my left extruder for engineering filaments, but mostly for PETG HF. Which I don’t mind running PETG HF through my AMS, but it’s nicer to use all my PLA colors in the AMS and use PETG or whatever else on the LH external roll (Am working on getting the AMS HT to run them out of instead of the post).

I was getting this fault:
HMS_0300-2600-0001-0001: Low signal frequency detected on the left extruder eddy current sensor. The sensor may be installed too far, or the sensor may be loose. | Bambu Lab Wiki

I thought, there is no way it is a sensor issue this thing has been printing like a boss since I got it. (Aside for some AMS issues, that don’t really make sense to me still since I found no issue…) So, I extruded a bunch of filament, and it seemed fine. Still faulted. I tried it with the filament unloaded so nothing was in the extruded. Fault remained. I swap the nozzle (grasping) still faulted. Then, I decided to look for a jam instead of messing with the sensor. I did notice some blobs of ABS on my Nozzle, so I swapped it out, but same issue. My thoughts were, this has to be a mechanical jam, not a sensor issue. I followed this video:

The video was great, I took it all apart, and alas, no issues were found. The extruder spun freely by hand, there was no filament jamming anything.

So, I went back to the original fault (Should have just started here…) and followed the steps to check the eddy sensor. I found it was a little loose on the .3mm gap check, but the screw was tight. I decided to just loosen the bolt and push in on the sensor instead of following the next step. This got it back working.

However, I am left wondering, what changed. The screw was tight to the sensor. It has been working fine.

It looked like a little bit of that ABS got behind the nozzle, it was very difficult to remove the old nozzle, but there was definitely contamination behind it which I figured was why it was hard to remove. There was still a very small amount on the Hot end plate where the nozzle seats onto.

My question being, could this be my culprit? Did I just waste all this time because some filament worked its way behind the nozzle and is pushing the new one out slightly as well? I wouldn’t think this would move where the hotend lifting slider would be at, but maybe I am mistaken.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! I don’t really want to run down this rabbit hole again if this issue starts again. :grimacing:
