Is there a way to make sure the Monotonic line on top surface continues on the same path edge to edge instead of reversing when holes or other object is found in the middle? This is causing issues on the top surface because the other line dry and then doesn’t blend as well.
This shows the current behaviour… it would be great to see it folowing allways the same diagonal path from one edge to the other.
Pick up a marker and a sheet of paper and without lifting the marker, attempt to do the thing you want your printer to do
You may find it difficult
You’re not wrong about why you see poor results, but to do what you’re suggesting requires fourth dimensional non-euclidian maths
Thanks for your considerations. Maybe I didn’t explain it correctly. I’m not sugesting anything out of the ordinary from a math or FDM 3d printing point of view.
Maybe using your marker and sheet of paper example is easier… In 3d priting I can lift the marker wihtout actually lifting it! Consider the stop extruding the lifting
so what I was sugesting is a solution where it extrudes, then stop extruding while continue the same path and then re-start extruding… like this the line is countinuous with the exception of the place where there will be an object or hole.
Thanks
