Hello,
my current problem is that a rack I designed and printed gets one ugly edge along the way up - but all the rest is nice and smooth.
I printed a second time with a different infill, because it had seemed that the inner pattern shows, but the problem reappears - a bit different and at the opposite side.
Does anybody have a clue?
Following! I had a similar issue, but not as bad, when the printer was going over to the front LH corner…
A couple of possibilities come to mind:
- Are the seams placed on this edge? If so, you could try painting seam blockers to force the seams elsewhere.
- It could be a heat/cooling issue. Is that edge away/blocked from the aux cooling fan? You can try rotating the part on the rebuild plate.
- Pressure advance may need to be calibrated for your filament.
Please provide two screenshots of the Bambu Studio preview tab:
- Using filament view
- Using line type view
Can you also confirm:
- Is the filament BL PLA Black, if not which manufacturer, type, sub-type (speed, matte, silk. Etc) and colour
- Did the model print as your photo shows with the damage on the top most part?
- If it isn’t clear in the screenshot I asked for in points 1 & 2, where in the build was this placed?
Hi there, thanks for your hints - too late today to do screenshots, but I can say that I use Bambu Black PLA with the provided parameters.
Most likely the issue is connected to the printing position as you suggest - it is as far left and near to the door as possible, because I am lazy and I like to use every space of the plate before cleaning it.

The P1 and X series have a non printable area in the front left corner.
The P2S removed that limitation which is your printer, this no longer appears a relevant factor.
What filament is this? Your filament could be getting a little too hot and then the fan is blowing it, or it probably just needs some supports.
Any chance you can just print it in the orientation shown in your pic, instead of flat? That should print really nicely on it’s side and might sidestep any filament/cooling issues.
Rotate it 90 deg counter clockwise, this way the auxiliary fan can cool the left and right edges more equally if it has to print in the orientation shown above. Otherwise maybe printing it on one side (as Bullocks suggests) could be better.
