I cannot edit process settings for an individual object on a plate. It gives me error “switch to per-object setting mode” but I do and still get the same error.
Print sequence applies per plate/job or per project, not per object.
I don’t think it’s an error just a remainder. If you do it regularly and know what to do already, just turn it off
If this is accurate, why does it allow me to select “edit process” on an individual object and why does it tell me to switch to per-object?
I dont write their software, they can explain their UI decisions, but I’m telling you, that the specific control you are manipulating, named: “Print Sequence”, is a thing that applies to the plate-level configuration of your project. Attempting to manipulate it per object is nonsensical, given what it does.
I think we’re misunderstanding each other. My intent was to edit the process on one object on the plate, and I interpreted the alerts on the screen that I could do this as long as I changed the print sequence to per-object. printing per-object in this case was not an issue because I had the space, but rather that it continued to give me the error after I had already made the change that it demanded… suggesting that there is an additional setting that needs to be changed before I can adjust the settings on the object
And you misinterpreted the warning
. BS was merely indicating that you should click to « objects » rather than « global » which you did not print by objects. I have clicked on « don’t show again» a long time ago because I don’t need that kind of advise.
I was in objects when it gives me that error, not global. you can see it in my screenshot. It points an arrow to something I’ve already selected. This is why I’m confused and why I made this past. I took a screen recording, but cannot post video here
I agree. I want to adjust the print order of objects on a plate so i can introucce a pause and change a roll of filament in the AMS.
I have the same issue, on the plate, when in the objects tab, right clicking on the object gives me the same prompt asking me to select ‘object’. The window i am hoping to see is the one posted by Neiljt. As i understand this allows me to determine the print sequence. Do yo have an update/resolution?
Sure be nice if this was resolved or at least acknowledged - super frustrating to have software that tells you to do something and still doesn’t work after you do it…
If you don’t see the “Process Settings” option, it’s usually because you’re inside a synced project or a system preset. Switching to a Custom preset normally unlocks everything again. Also worth double-checking that you’re not in Simple Mode - Expert Mode exposes way more options.
I ran into this once and this quick toggle fixed it. Might help someone else too!
Ok I just spent some time to figure our this error! to change the order of objects, make sure the print is set to “print by object” (even if that won’t be the case when you actually print). Then go into preview mode, where you can change to order of objects, by clicking and dragging. THEN once you have the order you like, you can go back to design view, change the settings to print by layer and continue from there.
