Opening an existing 3mf from the Bambu Labs Online Models (a Daggerheart tracker) - which prints great and with some color changes, distinctly different. But I want to modify its existing text to use with TWD-RPG and have spent hours and hours of being unable to do or solve this. I know it’s a me/skill issue - but I cannot see any way to find/alter the text anywhere. Watched dozens of videos but every time they show a way to modify text, I simply don’t have those options. It tries to add new text anytime I click the Text icon.
Sorry to be ignorant and new - but struggling to figure this out.
Does the model say the text was added using the text tool in Bambu Studio?
It is far more likely any text was added in the same CAD software that the model itself was.
Assuming that is true, the text cannot be edited without the source file and the correct associated CAD software. It is unlikely that would have been shared.
There are no dumb questions only dumb answers (from me usually).
Open the slicer. Select the object. Click on the Objects process tab, instead of global. There will be a tree of your objects and their modifiers.
If there is a text item there, then your text is modeled in the slicer and you should be able to right click and edit it
If it isn’t, then the guy who made your model put the text on in CAD before he exported it, and you’re not going to be able to edit it cleanly.
The guys making videos for clicks usually don’t include this info because they want your engagement advertising, and if you’re not satisfied they know you will watch another …
Yes, this appears to be the case. I guess it makes sense to those capable and good at creating, just not for newbs like me! Thank you both for replying so fast and with good information. Model doesn’t appear to state much of anything specifically beyond what looks like design specs (layer, walls infill…etc.).
It’s the second one with black background and white letters. I am not smart enough yet apparently to do the negative part and replace with new text. lol
I just looked and they have the panel blank under the individual files. It’s daggerheart+tracker+panel.stl if you want to open it and just add the text.
I like the look of both of them! I remember back in the day when you would get 4 game pieces with a large combo. I got one a few days ago and I only got ONE piece… then it told me I had to install the app to see which $2.99 food item I had won
Thank you all! Just learned a boatload in a short time and have been able to make the changes to this tracker! Will be printing these out for tomorrow’s Walking Dead RPG session!
