I like the mixed filament option. However, with the amount of transparent filaments on the market, not allowing a change filament at a certain layer limits creators cleverness to create their own illusions to compliment the mixed filaments capabilities.
I was hoping to add a change filament to a full translucent as the layer reached the body of the shark thus being able to see the full body under the water. Without having the pause available, I had to settle on pushing the mixed filament with as much translucent as possible. Even with that, the layers in blue still block the illusion.
I had to do this in PETG as that was all I had for translucent.
Also, could you fix these prime towers, you can’t see it in the image but beyond the messy tower, I have debris from the tower all over the plate.
Not sure if understand the issue correctly.
After slicing, you can right click the layer bar on the right of the Studio slicer preview and add a filament change or a pause (to, for example, manually swap a filament).
But is may be easier to just clone the model, merge both copies, align and then translate one copy down by several mm.
You can then right click the lower copy, change its type to modifier and change its filament to a darker blue.
Depends on the model though. It is easier if you have separate models for the waves and the shark. Just gotta keep in mind that modifiers are applied in sequence of the build tree, which can be dragged and dropped to change.
Paint however, overrules pretty much everything…

I actually started on that last night, I took it to tinkercad, made 2 copies, made one smaller, aligned and turned the smaller one into a negative, l grouped to cut out the smaller. Then sent the cut out larger and a copy of the smaller back to bambu. The smaller is not a mixed blue/transparent and the larger completly transparent. Its printing now.
Yes, you could pause, swap filament, but you shoukd just be able to change the filament right there like you woukd for any other print. I get they want to maintain the integrity of the transition but its requiring each person to do those extra steps.
