I’m trying to edit one of the profiles in one of my posts and it takes me to an endless verification cycle. I stopped after 50 puzzles or so. It was working just fine 12 hours ago and this morning I’m not able to edit any profiles. Anyone else having this problem?
You get this if it can’t identify or track you or it thinks you are a robot
Usually it’s because the service is broken so I would assume their web stack is having issues and try later.
However, it might not be, things that contribute towards this are someone else on your IP address being a robot (e.g. if you have a shared address like a VPN), having cleared cookies in your browser, or having certain privacy tools or script blockers that prevent the websites from harvesting your data.
Thanks for the reply. I tried multiple browsers, cleared cache and rebooted. No shared users and no VPN. I submitted a ticket so hopefully just a temporary snafu on their end.
From time to time I run into things like this. Today and two days ago, for example, the site just started denying access to me, but only if I was using Safari on my Mac! I switched over to Firefox and it’s just fine.
I suspect that every now and then they make changes to deal with bots and/or attacks, and a few of us are affected until they fine-tune the changes. It can be frustrating.
I’ve run into the endless puzzle verification thing on some other sites; just last night TikTok decided I was a bot and threw puzzle after puzzle at me. That was useful in breaking the TikTok Trance so I could escape and put my phone down 
For me it seems to be endless “account verification” codes. The support response was “this shouldn’t happen”. Thanks, I knew that…
