I want to print parts that have a height of over 200mm. Close to the top are a few spots that need support. The slicer generates support as trees from the build plate, even though I didn’t select “on build plate only”.
As you can see in the picture, bellow the features that require support is a surface, on which support could be placed. Is there a way to enforce this? Otherwise it’s a ridiculous waste of material…
I’m not aware of how to enforce tree supports to have its base on a particular place.
That being said, judging your picture, seems like a great case to use Normal Support > Snug, which should achieve exactly what you want

I have seen the slicer place tree supports on the model, but for that, I believe you need separate support material for the raft/base interface to be doing this. Though the control over tree support is fairly limited imho.
