Error code -1 in LAN only mode

Hello all,

I am using a X1C at work and since our network is restricted we have it in LAN only mode.

I am having an issue where the printer is recognized by bambustudio but whenever I try to connect to it the app just loads for a bit (not frozen) and I get an error code: -1 with the printer’s serial number.

I have tested both windows 10 and arch linux, my colleagues also have the same problem and my P1S at home (in normal wifi mode) works perfectly with my bambustudios (win10 and linux).

The weird behaviour is that sometimes if I restart the printer and the router a couple times, it works perfectly for a couple hours/days, but this only works about 1 out of 5 times.

The printer is connected to our open (local) network, and since it works sometimes I don’t think it’s a firewall issue.

I would suggest trying OrcaSlicer, which seems to handle LAN connections better than Studio. If nothing else, it may prove that the problem is in the slicer rather than in your network configuration.

I have heard from some colleagues that orca slicer has better integration with some printers but I figured bambustudio would be the best for bambu printers.
I’m going away for a week and will report when I get back, thanks!

The very unepressive error code does lead me to believe it’s either a weirdly specific slicer error or something that is complety independant from the slicer (so it throws a generic code).

Hello again, just tested and it gives me the exact same error code in orca, any other ideas?
