Howdy. I just installed my new P1S and AMS. When I go to load the filament with the AMS, using the load command, the filament will go all the way to the extruder head and then pull back. It will do that several times and then throw an error saying it failed to load. The filament goes smooth until it gets into the head. It seems to drag a little going into the head. The spring on the HUB on the rear of the unit is completely compressed when the error is thrown. When I switch the same filament to the external holder, it loads perfectly and runs well. The issue i sonly when using the AMS. I think it might be HUB issues or there is a problem with the tube going to the extruder. Anyone have the same issue? Is the HUB spring supposed to be completely compressed when it loads?
Why are you doing that? Is there a problem. Does Bambu Studio show the AMS with however many spools you have loaded?
Let the printer handle loading unless you are specifically working some issue.
When you click Send, to send a print to the printer from Bambu Studio it does all that.
It has the same problem whether I send a model to the printer or try to load it manually. I did it manually as well so that I could eliminate the model file or a problem with that as well. The spring stays compresses as soon as it gets to the head. There are no clogs because I can manually feed the same spools NOT using the AMS and it loads and prints immediately.
Okay, got it. Just wanted to make sure something else wasn’t going on.
The AMS does some ritual where is will travel back and forth a couple of times as it read the RFID tag taped to core of filament. That is where it reads the data and loads it into Bambu Studio.

Let’s just go with I got it fixed with a little thought and help from my son! So embarrassing…simple simple fix. I was trying to avoid the security “improvements” so only had firmware 1.07 loaded…and that’s when my son asked if my printer was compatible with AMS 2 pro and that they just release the firmware to make it compatible. DOH! Total Homer Simpson moment! Anyway, a couple of button presses and all is well.
That is all that matters in the end. Enjoy your printer.
