The past few weeks I’ve had an issue with my X1C where the toolhead carries around a small spaghetti artifact, usually from the beginning of the print. It does not happen at every print, but sometimes the artifact also comes loose from the nozzle, which then interferes with the print.
What could the cause of this excessive filament extrusion be? I was thinking about changing the nozzle wiper, but this printer does not even have half the hours of my other X1C, where I never changed the nozzle wiper.
Using BambuLab X1C with (dry) original Bambu PETG filament and 0.4 mm nozzle, standard detail settings, textured PEI build plate.
X1C here and sometimes I see this too - especially after the first layer check/scan. While the nozzle sits over the poop chute some filament “leaks” out. The problem seems to be that what oozes out doesn’t weigh enough to get knocked off on the wipe so it gets pulled back onto the print.
Many times it can also get “thrown” in the printer and ends up on various horizontal surfaces or in the bottom of the printer below the build plate.
I’d like to see a little more filament intentionally extruded so little bits can get cleaned off like they would during a filament change. The bits getting thrown around are very hard to prevent and it’s luck of the draw if it lands on the print or stays stuck to the nozzle to come off later in the print.
