Exclusive models getting downranked

All of my models are not getting recommended anymore…
I have been uploading for a year or so and I have been getting steady downloads on my models. But now all of a sudden none of my models are anywhere near the top of the search results when they were at the top. Also, I recently uploaded a new model and I made a Reddit post about it which got it to 50 downloads in one day, but it still did not get recommended…

I have 10k downloads, so I’m not a complete noob

Mine seems fine

Hmmmm quite interesting! !!

I have seen a sharp decrease like this on featured models, after they become 6 months old. It never happened on a non featured design though. So I guess it’s the “bonus” from featuring only lasts that long.

And yeah, obviously after a design becomes 7 days old and disappears from the trends.

Interesting… these models have been uploaded for quite some time now and none of them were featured. Also, this is across all my models. Thanks for the help

it’s not an exclusive models getting downgraded, it’s the profile (for the lack of better words) became expendable. (new learning model and algorithm).

incase you missed it June 16th update here.

although my uploads are mixture between complex 10 - 25 hours prints and a few useful quick prints, i faced a similar drop in views and barely getting boosts as it used to be.

Mine also looks fine… but none of my designs is made for getting downloads (it is only stuff for me)

Reddit is a shole you’d probably brigaded by some toxic envious kid. Already been there, I went away closing the door slowly in cringe :joy:

I don’t know what changed, but the algorithm is wack.
Until a few months ago, you could just upload your model and it would get a reasonable amount of views. It was very unusual to get fewer than 100 a day.
New models get almost no views, even with a compelling thumbnail. I usually see only 30–50 views a day during the first week, despite even promoting a bit on social media.
Even YouTube, on a bigger platform with a completely deserted personal channel, gives you more visibility than that.

It feels like if you don’t have alternative ways to promote your model, you can only rely on what you’ve already uploaded. New models are basically ghosted.

And even if you make it to the trending page, unless you get featured (which deserves a separate topic, because recent picks are insane and totally against what they claim they want to promote), your model is dead after a week anyway.
Search was already bad, but now it’s awful, since it’s basically only based on downloads. So old models, even if they’re bad sometimes, will always stay on top and get more interactions. Meanwhile newer models (even if they’re much better and more refined), have almost zero chance to catch up, especially with nerfed download/print counts and fewer views.

The trending search also makes no sense anyway. I see older models than mine, with fewer downloads, prints, and boosts, consistently ranking higher. :man_shrugging:

I think there’s something buggy in the system. For the past couple of days, I’ve seen one of my models appear on the home page, but according to the stats it has very few downloads and views. But then I noticed something even stranger. This model often shows up on the home page as “trending,” and on the model’s page you can see a number of downloads and prints that don’t really seem to justify the visibility it’s getting. However, if I look it up by sorting models by “trending in the last 7 days,” the numbers are completely different—double the downloads and 50 prints compared to just 2 on the model’s page… So I’m not sure which one is actually bugged.

Bambu likes you.
They do that from time to time for big prints.

ha ha … models gets lower views after some time … i believe this is somehow natural, if you think the massive number of new models that gets uploaded every hour.
This trend is happening to me with all models. The photo bellow is from a contest winning model even.

I don’t think there is a guy there, filtering stuff and targeting people like you, to have less views.
I suppose, there is an algorithm that tries to promote also new stuff (which is very abundant ). Also, the number of users is not increasing at the same pace as the number of new models.
Anyway, this is just my feeling, i have no proof of anything.

PS: I have 138k downloads … and this is still usual with my models. :stuck_out_tongue:

What I observed is that if you have more models that does not mean you get more Impressions and from there on more views and downloads. For me the views stays relative stable even I have nearly 200 models and 30 models a year ago. Might be some models are not appealing to most people or that there is a cap. In fact it is just fun and a hobby for me and I share what I do and do not do it because someone wants it.

When MakerWorld first launched, I didn’t post anything. My gut feeling simply advised me against it, and I was right.

Recently I uploaded three models. for sure not in the name of Hank since I want check if the platform is healthy to deal with  All high-quality, one of which was even created for a customer and sold multiple times for amounts you will never get on MakerWorld or “Etsy” at all.

I just check it whether I could get traffic out, but the fact was that much more traffic was consumed than ever was given back. The response, however, was absolutely underwhelming. Honestly, I feel like I brought more views to MakerWorld than it ever brought to me as the models have also gained far more attention on another platform.

At this point, it feels like MakerWorld has also much more people designing than actually downloading. I even know users who started out downloading, but now only design their own models. That’s really just the natural next step: you buy a printer, you download a few things, and eventually you start learning CAD – because in the end there’s only one real reason to own a printer: to create what you specifically need and design it yourself - since your Printe can make your own custom parts. So also of this nature, downloder getting less, person try to get models down lode getting more. Even person start printing and owning a Printer do no longer know what to print, since one printer will quickly solve all there needs. So the Market is may compliantly overloaded and the view print were reall money is in gettoing complitly overlooks - but no big deal, just god to know

So simply, the boost are ok, since it higher costumer relation ships. The exclusive models are may even a disadvantage - since it may even hurts costumer relation ships. No costumers may will not more getting that much in personal touch with the brand. And how ever won`t get a commercial license there? Is there a regular 100 000 USD coverage for clams by other 3rd Parties on production done out of this licensees ? How ever whit a minimum on professionalize ever wants purchase a license there? How Bambulab confirmes the authenticity of the model to person how perchance a license? An al those exclusive model just taking the displaying space for new costumers buying printers

On top of that: When models show a level of quality that goes beyond the usual skills of a hobbyist, they tend to disappear into the noise if you are not already in the club. To much exclusive, barely boosted, and hardly seen. for me in the mean time is more all about costumer relationship, to keep persons in there eco system to get benefits at the printer in case of “free stile solutions”.

I think MakerWorld serves Bambu Lab well as a customer relationship tool. But for me personally? I’m certainly not going to spend €1800 on an H2D – that machine just isn’t worth it to me - and there is no value to my if Makerworld charge creators since I do the parts by my self. So there is no reason to me charging 1800 Bud sof this printer.

@bambulab Sorry, my zodiac sign is Dragon — …and on top of that, with the element of Fire  The combination occurs twice in a century  I either get exactly what I need, or I make it myself - and as normal, I`m complicity fine with
